Ronnie Brown was productive on sunday. He caught the ball well, he picked up a few blitzes beautifully and .... only rushed for 57 yards. 57 yards won't cut it when you are the 2nd overall pick in the draft and held out trying to get quarterback-like signing bonus. I am sure the Dolphins had more than 57
yards a game in mind when they made this pick. Now I understand Denver has a good rush defense, but if you really look at this guy he doesn't show the kind of vision I like to see in a RB. Remember, at Auburn Cadillac Williams
NOT Ronnie Brown was the feature back; there's a reason for that and IMO
running instincts played a big part. So it is crucial that Ronnie gets us at least 80 yards this week if he gets the ball 17 or more times because quite frankly, he has no excuse this week.

:shakeno: This has been said and gone over many times. Use the search for what people think about this.

there are 15 more games in this year. Sunday was his first. He was also a big reason why Miami won that game.

You need to think about this before you throw down this thread. He got into camp late, and he picking up the system very fast. he has to get to learn his offensive linemen as to where he feels comfortable running. This will come in time, be patient. Who in the heck says he has to do it by the second week of the season? This is a team sport. He ruched for tough yards, make a great catch, and picked the blitz very nicely! Give him a break!

57 yards is fine as long as they find a way to win!

Neither one of them was the feature back. They were both on the field at the same time and they both carried the ball. Ronnie was used in the passing game where Cadillac hardly was.

I like the way you think. Getting into camp late is the key. He would not start If Saban thought he was not ready yet. He needs to fumble, get rocked and run some tough runs for TD's before he even gets used to the NFL. He is a Roooockie..... Every back fumbles just like every QB throws interceptions. Keeping both NFL negatives to a minium is key.

Thanks Bro! Brown will be an asset for this team in due time. Here is a pretty sight when he gets his game on, and the defenses have to repeect him and Ricky, the long ball is going to look sweet!:beerbang:

Relax. It was his first friggn game. Did you see any holes to run through?

All I saw was lineman in the backfield most of the day. Our runblocking has serious issues.

It's one game. Give it some time.

Understand this folks, Ronnie Brown was late to camp BECAUSE HE HELD OUT!!!
He needed to be in camp on time because the Dolphins need top production from him with Ricky Williams out the 1st 4 games. Once Ricky comes back, he and not Brown will be the feature back. Why? Because Williams is, was and always be a better RB than Ronnie Brown. Don't get me wrong, I like Brown a lot but I am just calling it like I see it.

What exactly have you seen? One game from Ronnie and you're already saying he'll never be better than Ricky? That doesn't make any sense.

IMO Ronnie has nothing to prove to me in this game other than show some heart. He has done this since day one by running hard and giving 100% each play.

He IMO was kept safe and moved around accordingly to develop. We can't run a newbie up the center on 8 in the box 20 times, if we did you'd call for Saban *** instead.

So Ronnie will go out and do his thing and develop, while coaching continues to limit his hard hits for another couple weeks. He showed alot last week and expect the same this week. This guy most impresses me with his winning, hard working, and unselfish attitude.

also remember that......

one of Brown's carries was a -10 fumble recovery. Brown will be fine. The reason Freotte passed so well was that Denver stacked against the run. That will loosen up as Freotte continues to make plays. Patience is the most important thing right now!!!!
