Time to circle the wagons

Agrees on Garrard's injury. Makes me recall how Larry Bird's similar injury played out.

On the surface this has been a disappointing off season in that our primary objective of obtaining a legit starting QB has not been met. Most of us dreamed of Peyton Manning directing a high powered offense to go along with a stout defense and that makes us an instant contender. Couple that with the signing of Garrard and you rate this offseason as an instant failure. This from an organization that has passed on current QBs like Rodgers and Brees in the past gets you pissed off.

We are indeed retooling and will hopefully pick up some talent in the draft, including our future franchise QB, which will make us competitive in the future. The problem is we as fans are forced to wait again as we hope that our new regime and recycled GM can get it done.

I agree with that..........the waiting is the hardest part of all this but the chances are good in my opinion that we will be rewarded in the near future.

Go Phins!!

Re-tool is a better choice to describe the situation than my rebuild. The whole team doesn't need to be scrapped, but there are enough positions (starting and back-up) that need to be upgraded that it won't be done in one year. As pointed out above, if certain important positions are upgraded first, then we should see improvement quickly, and the rest can be done little by little over time. As for QB, Ross and Ireland said that they would go all out to improve the position. The odds of finding a franchise QB are probably highest in the 1st round, but there doesn't appear to be anyone left that is worth a 1st round pick. Those 6 lousy wins screwed us out of a top pick this year, so we might as well draft some playmakers at key positions and worry about a QB next year.
