Players I would cut right now: Derrius Thompson, Donald Lee, Reggie Howard.

Thompson and Lee can't keep their ****ing focus enough to catch passes that hit their hands, and Howard apparently still has not learned to play the Corner position in the NFL, evidenced by the pass on which he got beat by 5 steps to the 1, and the other pass that he was lucky was an incompletion down the right sideline, when he was beat by 3-4 steps.

All are dead weight, all are making mistakes that involve lack of concentration or focus and all are hurting the team by taking up roster spots and repetitions in camp that could go to players that are worth a damn!

I wouldn't even wait - I'd cut them before the flight back and make them fly separately, not with the team.

The team would instantly have a chance to become better by their mere absence.

And Thompson is about the only realistic one we could drop

If we can find a half decent corner when the cuts start coming I'd waive Reggie Howrd and his "I'm not taking a paycut"...I know it is only preseason game #1 but, he is my whipping boy already....I don't think I could tollerate him playing for us in the regular season...

Even with him, it's a shame to drop that $500k in cap hit on him without him being on the team. Sometimes you just have to do that, though.

Seth Mckinney should be the first to go and he should take his buddy Taylor Whitley with him.

Oh, I agree, believe me. But you can't screw yourself that badly because we are thin on OL to begin with.

And as far as the cap hits...sometimes you have to make a statement to the team that no matter the cost, the one thing that will not be tolerated is lack of focus or not knwing or executing your assignment properly.

That's fine and good with a player like Thompson where it is just a matter of whether we're "using" that $500k. It is another matter entirely if we're talking about somebody like Howard where it would be necessary to cut other players to fit his cap hit in.

You could spread it over this year and next.

Ray Mickens became available today. hes better and cheaper than that useless slag reggie howard.

Mckinney and Whitley must go.

Lee and Thompson I can give till the end of preseason to prove their worth a turd.

JJ, i just lookeed it up: Howards cap hit would be $750k

That's pennies.

Regardless though, I don't see why Howard should get cut. We're thin at CB as it is and like it or not, he'll provide depth. He just can't be used on the outside man. Howard would be more effective as nickle/dime-man or in zone.
