Jimmy James
You sit on a throne of lies!
It may be pennies until you consider the $3 million that would apply to the 2006 cap. That is too much when the team is already stretched thin at the position.

NaboCane said:Players I would cut right now: Derrius Thompson, Donald Lee, Reggie Howard.
Thompson and Lee can't keep their ****ing focus enough to catch passes that hit their hands, and Howard apparently still has not learned to play the Corner position in the NFL, evidenced by the pass on which he got beat by 5 steps to the 1, and the other pass that he was lucky was an incompletion down the right sideline, when he was beat by 3-4 steps.
All are dead weight, all are making mistakes that involve lack of concentration or focus and all are hurting the team by taking up roster spots and repetitions in camp that could go to players that are worth a damn!
I wouldn't even wait - I'd cut them before the flight back and make them fly separately, not with the team.
The team would instantly have a chance to become better by their mere absence.

NaboCane said:With the cap going up it would ameliorate part of that. Plus, if the guy is a liability, you have to fish or cut bait on him at some point, otherwise you have to carry his sorry *** into the 2007 season, and even then you'll still be taking a hit.
Now, yes, we are thin at the position. That's why, with some time to cool off, I've re-thought my position...
I'd still cut those three from the herd and make them fly back on a separate flight from the team - them and anyone else who let the team down by not focusing.
Then on the next practice day, I'd have them running sprints the whole damn day, then have them do the 12-minute run in the evening. And they'd have to repeat it each day until they completed the required distance for their position within the allotted time.
You'd better believe there would be fewer lapses in concentration on Saturday. And fewer still the next Saturday.
Its an idea but that kind of running wont improve game speed. They need to practice harder and get stronger.NaboCane said:With the cap going up it would ameliorate part of that. whatever floats your boat Coach NaboNaboCane said:It's not for their game; it's for the pure punishment value of it. Thinking better of cutting them, it would be too easy and penalize the team in a couple ways.
Running them like that would make them hate their lives more than if they were in hell. Plus, it would show the other players what happens if you lack focus and hurt th team.
Unlike the Wannstedt era, actions should have rewards - and consequences.
