Time to Give Props to Walt Aikens

At the beginning of the season, I couldn't believe Aikens was still taking up a roster spot after his last couple of years playing safety, but I have to give the coaches credit for recognizing his talent as a core special teams player. I also have to give Aikens credit for obviously putting in the work to elevate the unit.

Aikens, Hull, Paysinger and I'm sure others have made Darren Rizzi's units special this year. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Pro Bowler from our special teams.

Sometimes coach Risotto annoys me but under his leadership we make more big plays on ST. He needs to coach the stupid out of the KO return guys who, since last year, regularly take the ball out and get decked inside the 15. And when that doesn't happen, some jackass gets a block in the back penalty. Yes, Aikens playing like a boss of late.

Yup Aikens deserves big credit. The coaches had been talking him up too before the last couple games, and then he just goes out and has 2 monster games in a row to back it up.

Special teams has been delivering quite well this year. I'm always anticipating at least one big play a game from them.

He's been awesome. I've always been a Darren Rizi fan. Special teams, outside of having a bad to mediocore kicker for the last 10 years, has been always been pretty good, but this year has won us atleast 2 games and contributed big time to others. Aikens and Michael Thomas have been the best of that bunch, but I'd say the reutrn games have been decent to good, the coverage teams have been absolutely outstanding.

We always seem to burn the Jets on SP Teams.
Remember that gm yrs back where they like dbled our yardage but we won thanks to two Tedd Ginn KR TD's.
