Time To Interject Some Common Sense Perspective

Yea, I was saying elsewhere, if we didn't have Sherman on staff, I'd hate the pick.

I think there are two huge factors that are lost in our discussions. Philbin's and Sherman's ability to develop QBs and their ability to mold Tannehill into a franchise QB. But another thing, Sherman was a solid NFL coach, had a good college run. And now we're going to have him control our offense. What is ESPECIALLY forgotten is with all the talk about inexperience, Tannehill has the opportunity to play in the same offense that he excelled in in college. So yea, he's inexperienced, but he's going to have a lot of familiarity around him for as long as Mike Sherman is our offensive coordinator.

Im completely neutral towards the pick, willing to wait and see.

That being said, just wanted to point out that with Favre, without Philbin he had some brilliant years early in the decade(last decade). Who did he have those years with? Mike Sherman.

I dont feel to bad about the chances of giving Tannehill the best coaching possible.

This too. He's got some of the best coaches. If he fails, there's nobody to blame but himself.

Ryan Tannehill was the right pick. I wanted Miami to take a chance on 1st round QB, and they did just that. No more wasted picks on cornfed lineman.

Still 4 more picks in the first round. Dont jinx us.

Edit: first round over, in the clear!

That's just it. I believe Jimmy Johnson once said, you can be safe and be good or you can take chances with a vision to being great.

At least we did not pick an injured 100 lb receiver with is afraid to get hit!

I would have loved Kuchely too (Nerd glasses and all) but I understand why we made the pick we did. It's just a shame that we got ourselves into this situation in the first place where we no longer had the flexibility to take BPA.

We've FINALLY got a QB prospect ... now there is hope!! Now we hope he continues to climb the Learning Curve & doesn't get stuck like most.

What's been running through my head several weeks ... the Seinfeld episode about the Cashmere Sweater!! lol

Everyone was gaga to get a cashmere sweater, but George got a discount because it had a tiny red blemish ... which drove everyone crazy as their cashmere sweater wasn't perfect. That's our QB ... but surprise, its every drafted QB, even Luck & RGIII ... just that our red blemish is a bit larger!! lol

Anywho ... I sure am happy I have a QB (aka Cashmere Sweater) ... on top of the world for the near future!!

we reached and passed on some quality talent

kuechly could have been a major weapon against new england

tannehill better have the goods

my problem with the tannehill pick ( which im not thrilled about), is that with a top ten pick or top 20 pick you need to get guys that r going to start right away and make an impact on this team from day one. Sorry but tannehill doesnt do that for us and as of right now does nothing to make this team better. In two or three years he may turn into a decent QB but the way this team is with FA next year and the cap we may be starting from scratch next offseason. If it were me i would have pick someone else or traded down and next season gotten a QB like Barkley and started him day one. Now if the Fins intend to start Tanny week one and let him learn and take his bumps this first year since we will probably suck then i fell alittle better about the pick but if he sits for two years to try to be ready then to me its a waste.
