Time to stop the hate for Dallas Thomas

Im just saying he is not as bad as everyone is putting him out to be. He has been solid even at LT where we know he souldnt be. He may never be a First team All pro but I think he will definitely be a above average LG. He looked fine with RT but Moore has been trash and holds the ball to long. He looks lost out there.

I said I did't want Dallas at LT today but he has certainly been a lot better than Fox was at LT. Dallas has been very good considering this is the first week he has practiced LT in camp. I agree with the OP, I don't understand all the hate for one dolphin and all the love for a player like James who has been no better.
 
Yea we should have total faith based on some preseason games lol.

People who watched him last year had total faith in him at LG this year. What he did at RT was nearly as bad as James at LT but his work at LG let me know that if he had a whole TC at just LG he would be just fine, and he has been.

Its not based solely on preseason games. He was solid at guard last year before being moved around, he has gotten votes of confidence from coaches/teammates and has been solid from otas through these preseason games. Its just crazy but there will always be haters. Shoot some people still dont believe in RT on this site. I guess for some you either have to be the best in the league at your position or you are just garbage. Its a shame. Fact is he is our starting LG no matter if you love or it hate. So IMO its best to learn to love it because you will see it all year long. Some people just need to complain about something
 
It's not like worrying about him is unwarranted. We've watched him play for two seasons. He hasn't exactly earned the benefit of the doubt from anyone. If he has become a good player, it's up to him to prove it to us.
 
Not to overstate this .... but it's the pre-season. The Bills offense just hung 43 (or more?) points on the Steelers defense. Kirk Cousins is like 20-27 passing. It might just be that the veterans are not overextending themselves, neither team is really gameplanning, and well ... the games don't count.

I'm very concerned over the way Dallas Thomas has played. He allowed an absolutely unacceptable amount of pressures last year ... yes, even at guard. Did he make a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge stride from year 2 to 3? Maybe ... but call me a skeptic as far as Dallas Thomas being a quality player is concerned.

I have hope for the rookie Jamil Douglas. I've seen quality snaps and improvement and increasing consistency. But Dallas Thomas ... I've seen enough.

Wasn't it only like 7 pressures in 6 games at LG. So that is 1 a game. That is not horrible by any means
 
He looked fine tonight, though I must say as much as any OL may have developed, our coaching staff has really developed in how they scheme around the OL's limitations. The first couple quarters were almost all quick hitting passes until they got into a rhythm. This is miles from where things were under Sherman.
 
no i will continue to dislike the guy being a starter until he can prove it when it counts. he was ok at guard last preseason to. he wasnt great tonite
