I was (am) a subscriber to the Dion Jordan to OLB idea, but--unfortunately--it doesn't look like that will happen. I wish him success and hope he becomes the monster pass-rusher we thought we drafted at #3. It's time to direct our efforts and hopes to the more realistic situation at OLB--which is that Chris McCain will likely have a chance to compete for a starting job at SOLB this summer.
We all love McCain. He has an awesome attitude and knack for big plays. I love the way he approaches the game and team--as evidenced by his social media posts ( writing that former teammates will "catch a #phinsasswhoopin" in 2015) and standing up for Finnegan in the Bears game. He's a huge, athletic dude and seems to have all the physical tools and intangibles to be successful. However, the reality is that he played a limited amount of snaps at OLB in 2014 and is wholly unproven as a full time starter.
I'm looking for film junkies (and/or those with a subscription to PFF) to shed some light on the prospect of McCain's potential as our starting Strong-side Linebacker in 2015.
