Here is my take on the game after rewatching every play 5 or 6 times to see what happened.

LJ Shelton - excellent game. Shut down Travis Laboy. Good push in the run game

Jeno James - Manhandled by Albert Haynesworth. Played hard, but had problems w/ Haynesworth. Gave up 1 sack.

Rex Hadnot - Played fine. Had a couple of mistakes, but had some nice blocks too.

Kendyll Jacox - Gave up 3 sacks. 2 of which it looked like he didn't know what play we were running. Good / but inconsistent blocking in run game.

Vernon Carey - Shut down Vanden bosch. At times was a Mauler in the run game. Had a couple of bad plays but overall good game.

WR's - Hard to tell since you only see them when they make a catch.

Daunte Culpepper - when he had time to throw was accurate and threw to the open man. Sacks were not his fault. I think he is the best pocket passer we have had since Marino. Unrealistic criticism needs to cease. We don't have the weaponse his old Vikings teams had.

Ronnie Brown - Stud. Tired of the overrated crap. He gets hit at the line of scrimmage 8 out of 10 times. He is an excellent blocker and when he gets a hole he explodes threw it and knocks the poo out of people.

Defensive Line - Nice game in General. Roth made some nice plays he just looks so physically out of place out there.

LB's - Abused by TE's. I don't understand the coverage schemes Phins use so not sure who to blame. We need an upgrade over Spragan. He is good at being in the right position but not good at making the play. 3rd week in a row I have seen RB juke him when he had him for a loss.

CB's - Where in the hell did we get Andre Goodman? I can't imagine this will last forever but he is playing great. Didn't notice Will Allen. Safety play is shaky. Travis Daniels got smoked twice. Eddie Jackson got smoked 1.

Blitzes - suck. always picked up.

Synopsis: Yeah Tennessee sucked coming into this game, but they did not suck in this game. They played hard, Kerry Collins made some outstanding throws. Tennessee also has some great players. Haynesworth is a stud. Tennesee is not a great team, but neither are we. We got lucky on some plays: Fumble by TE, Int on last play, 3 missed Drew Benett wide opens.

But we also left some red zone opportunities on the field. Culpepper is getting unnecessarily trashed. He is not playing bad guys. He just isn't giving us what we prayed for in the offseason. If we can protect he will be fine.

We need to upgrade at both guard spots. We are fine at Tackle and Center. LJ Shelton played well, Vernon Carey played well.

Take it for what it is worth.

Pretty much what I came up with but Will Allen played pretty well. Only notable mess up I recall was the short crossing route that he blew the tackle on.

Tenn def played their best football this season and collins looked the best he has so far. Fisher had a great gameplan against us and the two TE set's pretty much destroyed our blitzing packages. Instead of passing out of 3 wr's.. he went to te and made it seem more and more like a run.. and a quick drop off over our Linebackers.

I don't have the advantage of TIVO, but I did watch the whole game and I just looked at the stats. Travis LaBoy had 5 total tackles, 4 solo, 1 sack. I would watch the tapes again and review your offensive line analysis. I believe LJ Shelton was beaten quite a few times. As for the rest of the line, I didn't see a whole lot of push or movement in the running game. Ronnie Brown was constantly dodging tacklers in the backfield before finding the hole.

Good post and observations.I agree with most of them..

I was also reviewing the tapes to see if the WRs were part of the problem of CPeps sacks but unfortunately there were no camera views of the WRs running their routes.

Most of our recieveing patterns we run are easily covered. That is one reaosn why we haven't thrown down field. It's simply Murlakeys offense, he isnt a gunner. Yes, his offenses work... but they just don't thrown downfield alot... and the patterns are just easily defended. Culpepper checks down... and always has to dump off.. which ends up going for a good piece of yardage. That also has to do with the recievers, hes sending everyone down the field.. pretty much running off the defenders.. leaving guys undernieth open for short gains.. or more if they can break it.

Finally a realistic and thorough review of the game. Our RG will be a problem all year I think. Man, I wanted Max Jean-Gilles so bad last year. Not sure what he's done so far, but he was huge and I wanted us to get him.

i noticed that while at the games.. the few times daunte had a lot of time the simplistic routes the WRs ran were done and they were basically easily covered...

but ive liked how carey has played this season and i feel we run 10x better when we run to his side... his run blocking has been real good... in the whole debacle of the Oline play, i think hes been a bright spot...

Just because Leboy had a sack doesn't mean it was LJ's Fault. The Titans ran a lot of stunts.

By my count the sacks went:

2/3 Jacox
1 Jeno James
1 Lee Suggs - Did not pick up blitzing corner

Maybe I missed one, but I thought LJ played well. Shutting down a player doesn't mean they don't get any tackles.

The Running Game was a problem because Tennesee Stacked the line. Jacox was inconsistent and Albert Haynesworth was blowing up our interior blockers.

good post.......i agree that Culpepper is getting unecassary criticism, the offensive line hasn't looked very good so far this season; but when Daunte has had time to throw, he has been solid. Also, if you cut down the mistakes....i.e....the fumbled punt return that led to a Tennessee field goal and Mare's shank from 30 yards out.....Miami wins this game by a margin of at least 16-7. Unlike a lot of people, i'm not ready to give up on this team three games into the season.....I'm still confident that the Dolphins will be contending for a playoff spot at the end of this season. Apparently some people forgot that we started 3-7 last year and closed out '05 on a hot streak. I think as the year progresses and the offense begins to gel, the team will settle into a winning groove.

I think Culpepper made pretty good decisions throughout the day. I think the timer in his head might need to speed up a bit, but overall I think he played ok.

It would be nice to see some more plays made down the field, if anything to open up some more lanes for Ronnie.

Thanks. That's a more thorough analysis. I'll take your word on Shelton.

You are right on point with your analysis. I am one of the fortunate ones with TiVo too, and I watched the game a couple of times as well. I mentioned in another post that Carey was decent in run blocking, and a small few contested it. We've had our most success running behind him, he still needs work with his pass protection, but he has been our most consistent run blocker. I am very disappointed with Jeno James, he should be playing better than what he has been doing so far. I also said that Pepp was not to blame for any of the sacks in the Tenn game, but some of these guys are just hell bent on putting all the blame on Pepp right now. There is plenty of blame to go around on offense, everyone has to step up their game; but I believe the o-line is the major problem.
