Just to add some perspective to the 2nd year players progress.

Aaron Rogers

Year One-
Got an extended look in the preseason opener vs. San Diego (Aug. 11), replacing Favre; endured a malfunctioning helmet radio, four offensive penalties and two sacks

Struggled as the No. 2 QB the following week at Buffalo (Aug. 20), going 4-for-9, for 21 yards, with one sack and an INT

Despite a rough preseason, including another INT vs. New England (Aug. 26), Favre said his 1991 rookie debut with Atlanta was worse

Saw action in three games as a rookie; he was active but did not play in the 13 other contests
Completed 9-of-16 attempts (56.3 percent) for 65 yards, with one interception, a 39.8 passer rating

Year Two-
In the preseason, served as the No. 2 quarterback for all four games
Completed 22-of-38 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns, including an 85-yard pass to Jennings, vs. Atlanta (Aug. 19)

At Philadelphia (Oct. 2): Made his season debut in place of an injured Favre (neck/head); nearly engineered a touchdown drive on the last series of the game, completing 2-of-3 passes for 14 yards, but the Packers were held out of the end zone on a goal-line stand

Vs. New England (Nov. 19): Saw the most extensive action of his career to date when he was inserted into the lineup for an injured Favre (elbow), and played the last two offensive snaps of the first half and the entire second half. Completed 4-of-12 passes and had a 6-yard scramble on a third-and-6. Played the second half with a foot injury he sustained toward the start of the third quarter; post-game tests revealed a fracture that caused him to miss the rest of the season. Placed on injured reserve Nov. 21

Carson Palmer

Year One
Was inactive as the designated third QB in Games 1-5 ... Was No. 2 QB in Games 6-12 ... Returned to third QB role for Games 13-16, as coaches wanted veteran Shane Matthews available in No. 2 spot for team's late-season playoff bid ... In preseason, Palmer led the Bengals in passes (54), completions (37) and yards (451), with four TDs and four INTs ... Compiled an 87.8 preseason passer rating.

Year Two
Made his regular-season playing debut, following his inactive rookie season, and took every offensive snap until he was sidelined by a knee ligament strain in Game 13, Dec. 12 at New England ... Did not play in Games 14-16 (designated the inactive third QB) ... In the first 13 games, showed tremendous progress as the season went on, posting a 96.9 passer rating in his last six games after scoring 62.6 for his first seven games ... Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after leading 27-26 comeback win Dec. 5 at Baltimore, in which he threw three TD passes in fourth quarter ... Also led a fourth-quarter comeback in 58-48 win Nov. 28 vs. Cleveland, and led a tie-breaking FG drive in final minutes of Sunday nighter Sept. 19 vs. Miami (his first NFL win) ... For the season, completed 263-of-432 passes (60.9 percent) for 2897 yards, 18 TDs and 18 INTs ... Posted a 105.2 passer rating in NFL debut Sept. 12 at N.Y. Jets ... His first TD pass was six-yarder to RB Kenny Watson in third quarter at N.Y. ... Directed second national prime time win of the season in Monday night action Oct. 25 vs. Denver, completing 12-of-21 for 198-1-1, including a pair of 50-yard completions to WR Chad Johnson ... Scored his first NFL TD in Nov. 7 win vs. Dallas, on a two-yard bootleg for game's final scoring play, and had his longest pro completion when he connected with TE Matt Schobel for 76-yard score that put Bengals ahead of Cowboys 16-3 in third quarter ... Threw career-high four TD passes in win Nov. 28 vs. Cleveland ... On Dec. 5 at Baltimore, posted career highs in completions (29) and passing yards (382).

Donovan McNabb

Year One- 60.1 passer rating 8TD / 7INT in 12 GP/6 GS

Year Two- 77.8 passer rating 21TD / 13INT in 16 GS +45 sacks

Troy Aikman

Year One- 55.7 passer rating 9TD / 18INT in 11 starts

Year Two- 66.6 passer rating 11TD / 18INT in 15 starts

I'm running out of steam but my point is obvious. The haters need to realize that it is the beginning of year two, take a deep breath and stop thinking this guy should be looking like Dan Marino by now.

Not every QB comes out of the gate like Matt Ryan, Dan Marino or Tom Brady. He is right in line with all of the QB's I profiled on here in year two of his career.

Henne is not the the future.

Henne has never shown the promise that all these other players you listed did.

He just isn't that good. He might be decent some day but he will never be as good as Aaron Rodgers or McNabb or Palmer.

Henne was available for late 2nd for a reason.

Keep your expectations low and pray for a miracle trade that will get us some of our value back.

Henne Sucks WAY OVER RATED Stares down his recivers since highschool and at Michigan and will never change. Big Bust.

You know, your draft position doesn't always equate to how well you're going to turn out. Maybe you haven't been paying attention to the draft/league lately.

I don't know if he'll ever be as good as any of these guys. (And neither do you) My point is that you can't judge a players future in this league based on his first year or two.

I can understand why you don't think he'll be good though, He does have the perfect QB size, a good head and a rocket for an arm. So yeah I'm sure he's gonna suck. Langford was still around when we picked next so because no one took him he must suck to right. Hell we took Zack Thomas in the 5th so we might as well of just cut him right after we signed him.

The truth is that right now, there is not a single person who knows what Henne will end up being like. Like the thread starter said, not everyone starts his career on fire. Drew Brees is another good example it took until Rivers was drafted before he started lighting it up. As long as the front office has faith in Henne, then so do I. I trust them they know what they are doing a lot better then the guys on here.

Until he looks around the field I can tell you what he will be doing, and it wont be playing QB for the Dolphins.

And for whoever comes with the argument of "He was there late 2nd round for a reason", may I introduce you to Tom Brady?

He must have been there in the 6th round for a reason right?

2 things-

1) The Trifecta vs Elliott 1. Although I respect your right to your opinion I don't need to elaborate on the difference here.

2) Does the name Tom Brady ring a bell?

Don't forget Montana was taken in the 3rd so I guess Alex Smith is actually better then him, WOW who knew!

That's why I'm not necessarily down on Henne, but I'm a little skeptical of our wanting to turn to him to start next year.
