You obviously didnt watch yesterdays game.

So what is Ferottes upside?

it doesn't matter but the 42 yard pass was to wes welker. and if you take that out of the of gus's total how many yards per completion does he have. he would only have 6 completion for 35 or so yards.

Why should we take that pass out of the equation? It was part of his accomplishments, which were pathetic enough without it.

i am not sure what is going to happen. i just know that our team needs to start stepping it up in other areas. i mean i love McMichael but he dropped to many balls he looked more like lee yesterday.

An unfortunate continuation of a disturbing trend he showed last year.

i know the completion is a part of the equation but the short passes set up the long pass so we shouldn't give feely crap for his short passes.

i thought the deep pass he threw to booker should have been called for pass interference.

so either way i thought they both had the to close of a game to compare really.

each with there own qualities

Don't you mean , "which were pathetic enough even with it."?

yeah both gus and aj had the same yards per catch even with the long pass so who cares.

The bottom line is no matter how much we debate I don't believe the Dolphins will get consistant QB or offensive line play in 2005. The QB and the O-line will look good at times but for the most part will be mediocre to bad. The defense will be good enough to keep us in just about every game, like last year, but don't count on the offense to win many. If Houck can't turn this line around then it's obvious we have 5 stiffs starting for us. I hope I'm wrong and the next preseason game, which is the only one that means anything in my book, will tell the tale.

Unfortunately, I think we need a QB that is better than either of these guys to be a legitimate contender, especially in this division. Having said that, I think we should start Feeley. He may improve as he becomes more comfortable with the system and with the team. Gus has had the huge advantage of having played in this system, for this coordinator, and has only managed to perform poorly with occasional flashes of mediocrity.
If we get behind AJ, and give him the reps, the attention, and the support, allowing him to get comfortable with the starters and vice versa,
he MIGHT become an effectiove QB for us. If not, Gus is clearly not the answer anyhow, we keep looking. :guitar:

No Point In Frerotte Starting

I think the point that has to made is that they BOTH suck. If you take everything the "Frerotte Supporters" say about the 2 QB's, you'd think Frerotte is head and shoulders above Feely, and vise-versa. Neither QB is that much better on a whole than the other.

That said, I want to see Feeley start because there is a chance at a future at least with him. Frerotte can obviously not do what we all want him to do, and that is lead us to a Super Bowl. If he does well this year as a starter, we'll still be looking for another QB next year. So ask yourself; what's the point of Frerotte starting???

If Feeley starts and does well, that means he's blossoming into a good QB and we can look elsewhere in the draft next year. If he doesn't, we'll use our good draft selection to take a good QB out of college.

That's what makes sense to me anyway (imho).

Again, there's just no point in Frerotte being our starter, as a matter of fact, he's just the perfect back-up. Old vetran that knows the system.

Do you realize A) The majority of Feeley's "completions" were under 10 yards. B) The fact that his throws were short eliminated his major weakness, that is, dealing with the blitz C) Gus' pocket awareness is light years better than Feeley's cuz he can actually "feel" the pass rush, as was evident in his bomb to chambers 60+ yards. D) Give Gus credit for McMichael's EASY three drops, 2 of the 4 incompletions to Chambers (to be conservative) and one to Booker down the sidelines near the endzone, and we are now looking at 200 yards with comparable completion percentage ANDDDDDDDD points on the board. If none of that was enough to convince you, just look at the last play of the first half with Feeley. That play was quite frankly one of the most embarrassing things the Dolphins have ever done, even more embarrassing than the false start last year on "everyone but the center". Gus is our man.

He speaks the truth. Wont find an arguement here.
