Defend him. Please, tell me why we should keep him as we blow yet another season.

I am most interested in what you have to say.

They won't post in here, and the ones that do will spew some BS about how it's Philbins fault for not having them ready and how Ireland was so "awesome" because he spent all this money and made all these moves in the offseason. They'll never acknowledge the 5 non winning seasons in a row, the 5 non playoff seasons in a row. I cant think of any other industry where the manager of the organization keeps their job after so much failure year after year. But hey he looks cool in a suit and sunglasses and he looks so cool in the war room. Oh and its so admirable how he just says what he feels to the fans and players. This team will never go anywhere with Jeff Ireland around. I can only hope this complete collapse spells the end for Ireland.

I don't see how anyone can be defended at this point.

Ellerby and Wheeler were atrocious moves. For that alone he needs to go.

Umm was Ireland coaching? He did his job. He made big time signings this year including Brent Grimes, his draft record the past 3 years has been pretty good as well; we have a slew of talent. What argument do anti-Ireland people have? You all are trying to find a scapegoat, I think it's simple; god hates dolfans and canes fans. We have **** luck.

Because Dion Jordan, Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, and Dallas Thomas were dominant this season. Dominant. The future is so bright, I can stare into it without blinking.

I'm far from an Ireland supporter, I've wanted him gone for years now. But at some point, as a team, you gotta get **** done. You're not always going to have the best players out there, whether that be because of an incompetent GM or injuries, what have you. The coaching and play in the last 2 games have blown my mind. Even if we do fire Ireland but keep these coaches, it won't change a thing. Just that we'll presumably have better players here that won't get coached up.

Ross has got to fire everyone & figure this NFL **** out. Or sell the team and spare us all

as much as ppl hate on Ireland you have to also blame the HC and staff. I dont know what Philbin does he stays quiet on the sidelines all game I dislike his conservative approach. I would prefer a coach who brings excitement and some enthusiasm to the team. Like someone said earlier, if you only score 7 pts on below .500 teams you dont deserve to call plays..

1 pro bowler from previous drafts. 100 Mil spend and 1 extra win! Enough Said...Ireland needs to go...

So you don't think our team has more talent than the Jet's or Bill's?

Seems as if both their coaches made gallons of chicken salad out of that chicken **** they have..

LOL....while I am not an Ireland supporter, he did assemble the same team that beat the Patriots two weeks ago.....and they looked pretty good.

I'm sure it is natural to want to pin this season on a particular person.....but I'm not sure it is as simple as that. But since we are talking about Ireland, here is what I see.

QB - We all were happy going into the season with RT and Moore as the backup....along with Devlin on the practice squad.

RB - Miller, Thomas and Gisellee were all ok to start the season

Wide Outs - Hartline, Wallace, Gibson, Keller....not a bad lineup

Line - Pouncey is solid at center. You have a pro-bowler next to him in Incognito. You have Jerry and Garner on the other side of Pouncey....again, not bad. The question marks were the tackles, but he brought in Clabo on the right side (former starter in Atlanta) and Martin on the left side. I think it was 50/50 that Martin would be successful. There was no way to anticipate that Clabo would be awful the first half of the season. However, Clabo has played well the 2nd half of the season.

In pre-season, I was very optimistic about the team he put on the field. Whether it was coaching, the Martin/Incognito fiasco, the injuries to Keller and Gibson....I don't know, but it felt good to begin with.

Now, I only addressed the offense, as it was our biggest problem again this year. On the defensive side of the all....

It is extremely fair to question the judgement of giving up Dansby and Burnett for Ellerbe and Wheeler. We have really weakened our run defense.....but, he did put a much better team on the field against the pass. Grimes in particular has been outstanding.

Just my two cents. I can argue either side of keeping or getting rid of Ireland.

See post #2 in this thread everybody. Same old excuses from the pro-Ireland crowd.
