Sparano and the entire coaching staff have done an excellent job the last two weeks. Keep it up fellas. No boneheaded mistakes with the clock. No ridiculous play calls in situations where there are obvious easy playcalls to make. I like it.
A boneheaded coaching move couldve cost us either of the last two games. Fortunately none existed. Well done.
Dont let me forget, those guys did a great job keeping Pat White on the sidelines today as well.
I must also say it was an excellent job on plan of attack the last two weeks as to the flow of the game. Great job last week letting Henne fire it 52 times. Great job this week making sure we ran the ball and sustained some drives.
Fortunately, the errors by Bess, Ricky, Carpenter, and Henne didnt cost us today. Cant have bad turnovers and miss easy FGs guys. Each one of those is as bad as a boneheaded call by Henning or Sparano.
Having said all of that(Curb fans?), this sets us up for a huge game this next week. Its all riding. This is why that Buffalo loss was so crushing. Look at the position we would be in right now had we not blown that game. We would control our own destiny not only for the playoffs, but the division title. Now, we find ourselves in a position where even winning out does not guarentee us anything.
We simply cannot afford to lose this next game. And looking at it, this is the toughest game we have left. I felt that way even before the New England game. Tennessee has won 6 of their last 7 games and we have not played well on the road. This is a big task that we have to get done.
When you look at the last two games, well hell, we have played GREAT at home this year. Our only 2 losses were games which we shouldve won, but made some critical errors to the two undefeated teams. So Im REAL comfortable with our chances in those last two games, even considering the trouble we have had with Houston. And the Steelers, well you will be hard pressed to find a team playing much worse than they are right now. That game is the least of my concerns.
This Tennessee game is it. If we win it, we will sit at 8-6 and coming home to finish the season(where we play great) against two losing teams. We will also have a much clearer picture after next week. We could afford to lose this game had we beaten Buffalo, but now we have no outs. We have to get it done. Tough task, but if we play smart and eliminate mistakes(players and coaches) I believe we can do it.
