I am listening to Sirius Radio, and they were just talking about Free Agency, and the Miami Dolphins.

The NFL Insider (Adam Scheffter I believe) said that the Fins are going to go heavy after Dielman, and might pursue Joey Porter if he returns the interest. Otherwise, Miami will not load up on "top tier" free agents, unless of course the two sides could agree on a reasonable contract.. Said that Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller both believe that they need to add a stabilizing presence on offense (named Luke Petitgout, and Joe Horn as a possibilities), and that they will probably load up on younger gys that still have a load of potential (mentioned Kelly Washington visiting, as well as heavy interest in Napolean Harris,Roderick Hood, Antwan Peek, and Bethel Johnson).

Said that Mueller and Cam are more interested in filling the bigger holes through the draft.

Scheffter then said that now that Clements as signed, you will start to see more interest in CBs. Everybody was waiting to see what Clements did before they began to negotiate their deals.

Expect only 3 teams to be heavily involved in FA; Denver,Cleveland, and San Francisco. They won't get all the big names, but those teams feel they can improve quicker through Free Agency.

Feels Steinbach and Dockery were both extremely overpaid, and that Deilman will be as well. All 3 will be getting as much, if not more, money that Steve Hutchinson got last year, and none of the 3 are even close to being on his level.

Seahawks want Dielman bad, but won't "go overboard" on giving him a contract.

Joey Porter has gotten interest from 6 teams most noteably Miami and both New York teams. Contrary to popular belief, Porter never played under Capers (when Joey entered the league, Capers was with Jacksonville). However, Porter might favor Miami due to similar defenses. Porter will start touring as early as Sunday.

Donte Stallworth is being heavily pursued by San Fran, but if Adalius Thomas is signed, expect the interest to fade a bit.

Cato June is visiting the Giants, but it is unknown after that.

Denver is willing to do whatever it takes to get Patrick Kearney to sign with them. Daniel Graham also wants to sign with hi hometown team, but Denver's number 1 priority is Kearney. If Denver can't trade for Willis McGahee, they will sign Ahman Green.

Leonard Davis is getting a lot of interest from both Dallas, and Washington but those teams want him to play guard while he wants to play tackle.

Expect more signings later tonight, and early tomarrow morning

That's what I expected too.. everybody is freaking out because we haven't signed any big names, but the big names are expecting big contracts that aren't worth it. I see Porter coming to miami rather than Dielman.

The only thing that makes me madder about the fact that we haven't made any FA attempts, is the fact that our enemies have and they are becoming better. Adalius Thomas is being signed by the Patriots, and since he is being signed by the Patriots, I could see Porter going to the Jets. I think today was an eye opener to everyone and is gonna make us realize that CC and Mueller are looking towards the draft, not FA to cure this team.

one of the regrets I have of not being able to afford VIP at this time. Too many people act like this is Madden, and we can just sign anybody, but it doesn't work like that.

I'm interested in hearing what guys like Boomer,Muck, KB, CK, ect think we should/will do.

Good point. I too would love to hear what those guys have to say. They always seem to be the voice of reason around here and help keep everyone in line and calm.

here's the thing, we've probably had a couple guys besides Kelly Washington in for visits, but most news sites won't post the activities of lesser named guys.

If the Pats to get Thomas like it is being reported, good for them. Sucks that they got a player that good, but we really weren't going to go after him hard (despite what Michael Smith said yesterday).

And we should build through the draft. Wanny and Spielman were horrible scouts, and our drafts showed it, and I'm disappointed in the lack of emphasis Saban put on the draft last year.

I've said it before if we can sign a big name guy I'll be happy, but I'm not going to throw a fit because other teams are signing players. Teams like the Pats and the Broncos can fill what little needs their teams have through FA because they're already great teams. I think we can be great, but to be great you need your own players, not relying on high priced FAs.

I don't think we have to go crazy in Free Agency...just get 1-2 solid guys. I think Porter makes the most sense being a 3-4 Defense LB. Let everyone else overspend. We can build through the draft.

I agree. Everyone keeps throwing out the names of every FA available. But the truth is those guys don't fit what we do and our schemes. The only guy in FA that I think could actually fit us is Joey Porter. He's the only guy I'm really interested in, but it probably won't happen. I'd rather us get guys that fit the criteria, not just guys that are big names.

LOL, people need to chill out, the Pats went deep in the playoffs, when you are that close to a Superbowl you can afford to spend big on one or two FA's but when you have had 4-12 and 6-10 seasons as of late the last thing you need to be doing is spending all of your money on a big name FA. First you fix the problems eventually you get into the playoffs, then you are ready to plug holes with big FA signings to try and make a run for the SB. You don't go from 6-10 to Super Bowl winner the following season  Relax people this process is going to take a year or two!

and that is how it should be. I just get annoyed that people on this board say the FO blew it when they didn't sign Eric Steinbach when we didn't even schedule a visit with him, or Ovie Mughelli (who I wanted, but he got a huge contract for a pure FB that no other team would offer him).

to be honest, I'd be perfectly content just signing guys like Napolean Harris and Nick Harper because they're cheaper, upgrades over what we have, and we can still upgrade through the draft.

I'd love to see us get Dielman, but if Seattle wants to give him Hutch money, let them. We don't know whether or not Toledo will be a good player (or i Dielman would live up to that contract), nor do we know if someone we draft would be a great player. Why cripple our team?

Let all the Knuckleheads blow their cap early.. 49 mil for Dockery your kidding right ?? The Pats signing Adalius...I dont really get it the pats are hurting at ILB not OLB they have Colvin/Vraebel/Cain but a ILB they have ???? Seau..Dont get me wrong Adalius will help them but its going to bump Vraebel back inside where he isnt anywhere near as good.

So far the only FA that I want is Porter...we'll see how it goes. Is he even gonna visit?

Exactly, that should be our plan.

What is all this interest in Porter. We don't need an expensive FA line backer. What we need on D is a corner if anything. If they want to spent big money in FA it should be for the offense. The heck with spending FA money on Porter. Dielman is going to cost too much and Buffalo already signed one of the offensive lineman that are out there.
