I am a firm believer that Brian Brohm will become one of the NFLs elite. It was only a year ago that this guy would have been picked in the top 5 had he came out. But instead, he came back under a new coaching staff and a new system and still did pretty well. Some people may say he did not do as well against the better teams Louisville played against, but look at the talent that he was surrounded with! there is only so much a guy could do!!!
555 yards and 69% completion percentage against Syracuse and they STILL lose the game!!
467 yards, 4 TDs no INTs, against Utah and yes, UL still loses the game.
I mean come on guys, what more could you expect one player on a mediocre team to do? im sure if this guy was at USC or any top 25 team, he would be the most coveted QB in the draft. I like the ryan kid from BC, but he is going to get picked a lot earlier than he should. Brohm on the other hand, who some say is going to slip to the second round (which would be a crime), would be a TREMENDOUS value-packed pick if he goes anywhere from late first to second round.

With that said, if the dolphins stay with the first pick, i think we should pick up Jake Long, then somehow find a way to trade up using next years picks and get brohm. Yes he could possibly fall to the second round but i woulndt bet on it. With the next pick we pick up WR Hardy from Indiana, who will also fall due to his character issues (randy moss, anyone??). This guy will be great in the NFL, a draw many comparisons to plaxico. I know some of you defense nuts are boiling right now with the thought of our fist two picks going to offense after a miserable 2007 campaign by our defense, but I think defense could be solved a lot quicker through free agency and late draft picks than offense can. We could always pick up a large NT in FA (such as sopoaga) and a good Cb such as gay and good Lbs such as Mitchell and pace (who could also play DE) that could hold the fort until next years draft. Those would be solid additions to our defense that wont eat up cap space.

A player like Brohm, who we could get much later than he should go, would be the ideal guy to build a franchise around. Give him weapons such as hardy, ginn, and Brown, a solid line with the J. Long addition and this guy will be receiving votes for Offensive ROY. It is these value picks in the draft that make a good team great.

This is going to be an exciting offseason gentlemen, lets hope Bill & co. dont screw it up. :beer1:

In my oppinion brohm wont be any better then beck so i say we draft other needs like d-line and o-line so no one can run all over us and easily win the game or get to our qb in 2 seconds. Were not getting brohm.

I wouldnt mind Getting Brian Brohm if he is there at pick 32 but if he isnt then i dont want him

I completely agree with you in that the dline and o line need plenty of work, but I say we draft either one of the longs with the top pick, and then spend the next pick on brohm if he is availbe. he would be such a great value at the 32nd pick (IF he is there)

and you say he wont be any better than beck? lol thats stretching it a bit... i think he will have a much better career, and lets not forget brohm is a bit younger.

If he is there at 32 i really do not see a reason not to pick him. I know this team has a lot of holes, but we do need another QB. I dont see beck throwing for 3,500 yards anytime soon, as much as I would LOVE for that to happen. Brohm has a ton of upside for a 32nd overall pick

I want us to take Jake Long, then maybe a WR like Hardy at #32, or Fred Davis, TE....then draft either Flacco or Henne with our 2B pick....if not then Red Bryant, NT.

Brohm is the exact same clone of John Beck. I don't see the point in BP(who loves big QBs) would draft another John Beck(same size, same questionable arm strength). Plus, Brohm may be gone by the middle of the first round.

I would be more leaning towards Joe Flacco at #32 "if" they pass on Matt Ryan at #1.

yea i really like beck but if DRC and all the Good CB are gone then y not take a QB and i dont think Brohm will even be there then

I love jake long at 1.
I wouldn't be peeved at the hardy pick, but I would rather spend it on a DRC or talib or cason, whoever is still on the board at 32.

than in the 2B, grab either the TE from purdue if he last that long, or kellen davis from MSU. I think fred davis is good, but he doesn't block from what I read/hear, and he seems to drop balls sometimes.

or with the 2b grab bryant, if we think Kdavis lasts until the our pick in the third.

flacco is interesting to me, I would like him, but I think we are sticking with beck this year, and dealing with qb next year if we need to. that way we don't waste a pick this year on qb if we don't have to.

No one is questioning Beck's arm strength. He had the second strongest arm at the combine. If you were a fan you would know that. We aren't drafting a qb early in the draft. Altleast before round 3.

The big issue with Beck surely is if he can cope with the mental side of things. We won't know that until he is in a game situation and with some talent around him to block and pass to.

We cannot draft Brohm at #1. He us not an elite QB, even amongst this years college QBs. He is pretty good but most would argue that Ryan is better and how much better is he than Woodson.
