To Me This is Reality .....

I`m just getting tired of stupid posts and speculation about who should start at QB , pesimism about our draft picks after a bad play , bashing jake long after 2 games . . the list goes on and on . with this post I`ll try to be as objective as i can about my personal view of the present and the future for our fins .


Drafts : how many players are on the team from sabans and cam`s drafts ? how many are impact players ? this is the most important aspect of our present , maybe we dont realize the real problem ...... Lack of Pro Talent !!!! ... Ronnie Brown is a great player , Samson Satele was a great pick , Channing Crowder is a solid LB , they are dolphin players that you count on , but now.... allen , solai , hagan , ginn , beck , roth .... most of them first and second rounders that til this day have proved nothing to be selected that high .


Evaluation time : these picks were bad choices that this administration has to evaluate and decide if they stay or not , and if the price for staying is worth the player .

that to me is why we are two solid drafts away from being a contender , it is as simple as that . this year the trifecta has to throw these players to their last chance of being a dolphin , dont expect much wins this year , this season is not meant for that , this season is for cleaning the mess and watch closely .


The Bright side :

Have you watched Henne , Long , Langford , Merling , carpenter , thomas closely ?? . I do and let me tell you that this group of youngsters are very very much going to excell sooner than most think . Langord has impressed me a lot , has two sacks in just 2 games , henne always brings poise to the field and makes throws we havent seen for a fin QB in some years , Long is doing a great job handling one of the toughest positions in football LT , this kid is only going to get better , stop the bashing without watching , watch long carefully you`ll see reality , merling has played solid . this years players show real pro quality ......6 solid picks in one draft VS 3 in two drafts ...... do you get the picture ?? . Relax fellow fin fans , enjoy the game and stop watching the score , watch the players develop that's the real fun for this season .

If only we could win like one game a month while we rebuild I would be happy. That would make us 4-12. I just need to see a win soon or I am going to kill myself.

good post. but i still don't want to see us getting blown out every week. we as fans have a right and responsibility to be upset about it. so if we lose by 20-30 points. expect more bashing post and threads.
 
people have to keep in mind that Long is facing the pros right now , give him time , he`s doing a heck of a job adjusting to the pro level . his position is critical , you can`t judge a rookie LT the same way as a LB , a missed play at LT position causes a disaster . a miss at LB causes a loss most of the time cause there is another line behind you most of the time . LT and QB are two very critical positions .
 
Great post. We will be fine. Give it another year or 2 and we will show vast improvement.

this is a good post. the trifecta walked into this situation with their eyes wide open. we hammer away at previous regimes for not rebuilding, but they really didnt have the resumes or flexibilty to do so. Parcells is one of the few guys that can walk into a mess, break it down, and be given enough time to turn it around.

BP was close to taking on the Atlanta mess, I'm glad he didn't. we suffer now, and reap soon. no more band-aids
 
Parcells hasn't been quite as arrogant in his declarations as Johnson was, but the timetable seems to be the same. Three years from now this team will be completely rebuilt, and early signs are the management knows how to get quality players through the draft. Free agency was a disaster, but aside for Smiley and Starks, most of those pickups were quick bandaid fixes.

I agree with most of what you are saying...except Matt Roth has found himself a home at LB and has impressed thus far
 
Right on! It wouldn't surprise me to see several of those picks from the previous coaches that you mentioned get traded after the season, even if it is only for low round picks. We just need to be patient and accept it will be a few years before we compete again.

So why are all but Henne starting?

and in just one draft Tuna/Ireland addressed that for this team.
