I think our problems are our receivers and not the QB play

there just not playmakers

We are 3rd in the league in passing yards
yet we are 29th in the league in receiving tds and
the only teams worse than us have only played 6 games to our 7.
WHICH AFTER THIS SUNDAY WE COULD BE DEAD LAST IN RECEIVING TDS

Welker-0 tds
Mcmike-0 tds (he is second in the league in receiving yrds for tight ends)
Booker- 1 td
Hagan- 1td
Chambers-3tds(he is 4th on the team in receiving yards)

NEVER MIND ALL THE DROPPED PASSES AND TIPPED BALLS FOR INTERCEPTIONS...I feel this whole group needs to go...

I know that it's not possible to get rid of all of them but god cant we find a playmaker to score a few touchdowns:shakeno: Hell,TO has as many TDs as our 5 man receiving group.

and for all the Ronnie Brown haters ...he has 1 less touchdown than the 5 receivers combined...sad...sad...sad

and when it's all said and done it's touch downs that win or lose a game.

OUR RECEIVERS ARE NOT PLAYMAKERS

I've heard a lot of talk about Calvin Johnson. I will be watching him closely today against UM.
If he's as good as everyone says AND Saban feels we are ok at QB at seasons end, then I would agree we draft this guy.
I would love to see the Phins trade Chambers for a late 1st rd or early 2nd rd pick. I think he is better than Deion Branch and the Pats got a 1st for him (still scratching my head over that one).

Its not any one position. It's a combination of WR, OL, and QB. You're right though, there's a good chance the QB position could be the least worst of the three.

Chris Chambers is a borderline pro bowl receiver and Ronnie Brown will be a very good back in this league. Times look bleak right now but lets not start getting so negative at are real good players.

Hagan and Welker need to go? I think not.

These guys i love all of them because there dolphins but are they overrated, Or our we just seeing them as better than they are because there on our team?

I think Chambers is on par or below Branch. Not better. Has anyone issued an Amber alert for Chambers this season?

I would keep Hagan and Welker. Welker is one of the few bright spots and Hagan is young and hasn't developed yet. I would consider getting rid of McMichael, Chambers, and Booker though. The WR position is (in my opinion) overrated and you just need a good run game, decent WRs, decent QB and a good OL to make it.

Tell that to Carolina, the Colts, Cincy, hell alot of teams man . . . w/o Steve Smith, Carolina is an 8-8 team man. U have to admit that when Philly had T.O. . . . he was a difference maker. WR is an extremely important part of the offense because running the ball you are only going to get so many yards . . . u move down the field by passing the ball and we need consistent guys who can catch the ball ALL the time. I think w/ Chambers moving to the slot, u will see him MUCH more involved and u will see Welker start to disappear a bit because he lacks the size to be an outside receiver, but I'm guessing Nick is going to have him focus fully on returns. We will have more 3 WR sets with Ronnie and McMike in there as well. Hagan needs to be starting before the end of this season.

A true balanced offense is what is required in today's NFL... A deep threat opens the running game as does a yard chewing running game for the pass. Right now we are inept at both. Blame who you want but both of these aspects of offense (are there any more? lol) need to be improved immensely. The fact that we can do neither speaks to the reality that we need help across the board. True the receivers have been dropping and tipping balls at an alarming rate. True it sems that Joey does not have 'touch' on his passes... ripping an 8 yd pass like it was 80. Ronnie has been unspectacular and the O-line just plain dreadful. Blame cannot be laid at any one players feet... The entire offense needs to take it on.

I agree with you 100%.If it was so easy just to point fingers at one group and say,"thats the problem" and fix it and be done with it.

This teams problems run far deeper but where do you start to make changes?

After reading and thinking regarding a few of the fantastic posta on this thread...I think I would keep Hagan and Welker also but I would try to
stock up on draft picks with Chambers,McMike,Booker and replace them through the draft... My only problem with that is it usually takes a wr a year
or two to get on track but there are a few gems in this draft.

Thanks,
MiamiRon

With the exception of Hagan, this is the same group of WR's that we had last year. Frerotte didn't have any problems with that group. Did they suddenly all become horrible WR's from last year to this year? No, I don't think so. The QB is our biggest problem.

I think Hagan is looking pretty good for a rookie WR.

You definitely have to give him a chance to develop.

Keep Chambers at #1, Hagan at #2, Welker at #3. Booker can go.
Without a decent OL we can't get Ronnie going so teams can stack up against the pass. We've become a one dimensional team due to our OL.

Chambers aint a #1, if the guy is better in the slot move him there and draft a wideout like Calvin Johnson. Problem is Welker is cheaper and very effective in the slot so you dont really need Chambers, make him a #2 but we have Booker and Hagan for that. I dont really see Chambers fitting in with the team much longer.
