Alright, this is really dedicated to those gloom and doom, "fans" that utter ignorance such as:

"Saban sux, he needs to go!"
"Wheres the attitude!? Saban is garbage"
"Saban is just Spurrier part II, he sux!"
etc. etc. etc.

Have some $#%#*&^ patience! This is a PROCESS, and we have only started it. In the words of a great football sage, "You can't make chicken salad outta chicken ****." Give the man 2 more years, and let him build his own team. He can only fix so many holes in one damn off-season. And so far, I am really liking the products out of the first draft (which, if you recall, we only had 6 picks). We have a solid CB, STUD RB, and STUD LB (which raw potential in DT, etc.). He has a ways to go to compensate for about 4 years of horrid trades + drafting, and a bad cap situation.

Again, the minute someone posts something along the lines of "Saban sucks," they instantly lose any credibility in my eyes...

Nah Saban is a top flite coach in this league, no doubt. turds happen (see cleveland), and Georgia Tech. OUCH

Also, to add some more comments: In most games (except Cleveland), we were in them - i.e. Patriots, the Bills, etc...

We beat the Broncos and Panthers, two very good teams. We're slowly getting there, but for any "fan" that thought we were a playoff caliber team, or my favorite, a super bowl team, thats just being plain delusional.

The mention of "Georgia Tech" makes my Testosterone level falll..... what a poor excuse for "football." Damn Canes.

How about those of us who say Saban is overrated at this stage???.....

Is it safe to say that?? That about sums up how I feel....

PHINZ RULE!!!

did you ever hear of saban fans that are not lovers or haters?? they're inbetween in their opinions. i just love some of saban lovers who have to defend for every single move. i was one of those who wanted him here as coach. i still feel that the potential is there. with that said, does that mean we have no right to criticize him!! i can't speak for anyone else, but i'm not referring to the players. the fact of the matter is we need lots of fresh new players. i'm speaking about decisions that he's made that are suspect!! should we just pretend that everything he does is wonderful and have no opinion whatsoever!! i will agree that his first draft is a sound one. a lot better than what we had with what's his face. the bottom line though, even the best coaches get criticized... deal with it!!:fire:

Overrated in what sense?

I think that years of depressing regimes with little to no results have made us fans easily glorify anything "new."

Saban is a good coach, but he isn't the second coming of a messiah. He is what he is. I think he a good coach that will be very successful in this league... BUT we need to give him time.

Criticizing intelligently and sounding ignorant are two separate things.

What I meant to make fun of are the people that say ignorant remarks, most of the time without substance, and that don't look at the reality of the situation.

overrated, by whom? what was the rating chart??

overpaid? overstaffed? under-talent-supplied? underappreciated?? - Choose from one of these more tasty morsels. They go down easier.

In the sense that we gave him too much credit before the season started. I know I did, especially after starting off at 2-1....

I wasn't expecting the playoffs this year, but I did expect to win the games that are considered winnable. Thus far, we've lost too many of those games in my opinion{Jets / Bills / Falcons / Pats / Browns}.

Whether it's attributed to poor playcalling / execution, it still comes down to coaching. Maybe I just expected too much too soon from him, and after witnessing the Jimmy / Wanny era in the flesh, I never thought Saban would have the same problems....

The Bills were 8-9 or so, the Falcons are a playoff team, the Pats are the Pats, and we the Jets were playing "back to wall" football after losing to the Chiefs at New York.... The fins really don't have the TALENT to beat those "winnable" teams... I mean all the coaching in the world won't make Frerrote Serviceable.... all the schemes in the world won't make good corners form out of thin air. Again, if this is happening, say, next year or the year after - then I think its time to really worry.

Look at how many starters we currently have from his one draft.... quality starters at that. And the others have potential... I think he patched up some holes with the six picks he had.

The Bills were 8-9 or so

HUH???...They were 1-3 when we played them, and had the worst run defense in the NFL at the time. Not to mention they were switching QB's, and had just lost it's defensive leader in T. Spikes.....

Did I mention the 18 penalites we commited???...

the Falcons are a playoff team,

True, but so are the Broncos / Panthers. We seemed to be able to handle them at home pretty well didn't we???...

the Pats are the Pats

We usually beat the Pats in Miami. Not only that, we allowed some scrub FB to run the ball down our throats all day long. It was a weak effort on defense all day long. The two play TD drive says it all IMO.....

the Jets were playing "back to wall" football after losing to the Chiefs at New York....

So??...We were coming off a huge win against the Broncos. If anyone should have played with fire that day it should have been us. Did I mention they were another team who started a back-up QB against us and won???....

The fins really don't have the TALENT to beat those "winnable" teams...

Broncos????.....Panthers????......

We beat those teams, and those were two unlikely wins at the time....

Bottom Line : This team is much better than their 3-7 record. You can attribute it several things, but when all is said and done, it's good coaching that will ultimately turn it all around, and we'll find out if we have that kind of coach in a year or two....

PHINZ RULE!!!!
