Would you have rather taken Joey Harrington at 3 or Kyle Boller in the first round in those respective drafts had we the opportunity? Yes.. Hindsight 20/20 yada yada.. but first round QBs tend to fail more than they become studs..

 we have never drafted high enuf to get that "great" QB pick or LT for that matter

Boller went right around where we picked this year in the prior year's draft. He wasn't an extremely high pick.

If AJ proves he is nothing more than a highly skilled backup this year, the trade is still a good one (the contract may not be, though). Every team has to have 2 QBs in this day and age.

Boller was a workout warrior before the draft.

Not so sure I agree with this.

Bolleor looks horrible. He needs to improve a lot to just suck.

I'm high on A.J but Dolphins overpayed for him.

Amen!! I agree 100%!! Why do so many "experts" think he's the real deal?

We payed a premium so that we could get him in early...learn the system, and compete for the starting spot. ANYTIME you sign a player early in the offseason, you will over-pay.

We compromised on the draft pick. We were unwilling to lose this years 3rd, so we will be giving (in the future) a late second rounder next year for Feeley. In a very real sense, we got Feeley for FREE this year.

Had we retained that 2nd rounder and waited for Feeley later in the offseason...we probably would have used that 2nd rounder to grab a RB. Maybe we could have gotten Gordon a little quicker with the 2nd rounder. If he was healthy, I'm sure Gordon would have been worth a 2nd round pick. He was coming off an injury and Spielman did VERY WELL to get him for a 3rd.

I think we played it right by giving Feeley the complete offseason in this system (total different language) to get up to speed and command the offense.

Don't think it will be a late second. Trading future picks can come back to harm you. It most likely will cost Miami an even higher pick next year.

Also keeping a 3rd is what also the reason RW cost 2 No. 1.

Take the hit and move on. Trading future picks can only come back to hurt you.

Absolutes will almost always come back to bite you like your last statement. If AJ has a good year and continues to improve showing what Rick saw, is it too much then? I dont think so and will probably never buy into at the time it was too much. Sorry but Hasselback proved nothing and he cost about the same all things considered. He even looke like a bust his first year.

I agree this was a good trade for Miami. A QB potential's is more overvalued than any other position. Look at the trades involving Henson, Losman, Boller, and even Manning. All are high risk investments for QB's without any NFL experience. AJ has started and performed well...none of the others have taken a snap. Will AJ pan out? Only time will tell but our starting QB of the future cost us a lot less than others considering the NFL market for QB's.

I think the Feely trade was a good trade, but I do feel we overpayed. However, we were in a tough situation and I don't have any beef for Spielman.

You know what makes Feeley look so good to me? The fact that Mark Brunell had fewer yards and a lower QB rating in a full game than Feeley had in a half. If ours was a bad trade, what does that make that one?

The thing is, people keep yapping about his lack of college experiance compared to Manning Rivers and Rothlisberger(sp?) but tell me how many games have they started in the NFL as of this season? Feeley has 5 more than any of the top three OR Losman or Shaub.
