the issue that i see with Miami right now is, the more we win the more we hurt our draft position. if we stay in the top 5 for the draft and we tell Quinn, 'if you declare, you're our guy' then he is more likely to declare because he is guranteed a top 5 pick. but if we slip to the middle of the pack around 12-16 then he likely will wait until next year when he will be a top five pick. now i'm not saying we tank the season, i still want to see us play hard each week, but its something to consider, especially since we desperately need the QB of the future.

this football team's job is to play well, which should translate to wins. I really don't think we'll win too many more games though. We'll definately take one from the Jets to finish around 5-11. If that's not top five, we can trade up if we're really enamored with someone.

Bu@# SH**

I think it is nothing to consider. All this talk about playing down or hoping that we do not win games is total B.S. Are we fans or are we business men sitting in the box. Whatever happened to never giving up on your team.
We still have a chance to get into the playoffs. It is slim but we still have a chance. Where is the pride in team. Forget about the draft until January 2nd, 2006. It will be here shortly so enjoy the next five games and back them for wins. It is not go all the way or go for top 5 pick. It is improve improve improve and that is what the Phins are doing.

You don't tank the rest of the season for a better draft pick. That is a losers mentality... and its flat out pathetic.

You play to WIN the games.

Yeah, that.

And besides, the original poster is making the assumption that the Dolphins are as enamoured with Quinn as he is.

Personally, the less I hear the name Brady, the better.

To Quinn? You should be saying... To Leinart! Much better QB.

yeah, we have a chance to get into the playoffs. and when we draw Pittsburg or Cincy in the first round and get the pants beat off of us and then we are done, a week later and with a much worse draft choice. this is a rebuilding year, not the year to make a playoff run. like i said, i dont think we tank the games, but if we start winning all of a sudden it could potentially hurt our chances at a top prospect. to address the Leinart situation, he will go number one. we will not have the number one pick at 5-11 or 6-10. plus it didnt rhyme.
