Broncos | Team to trade up in draft
Fri, 27 Apr 2007 10:30:36 -0700
Neil Stratton, of Inside the League, has learned that the Houston Texans, as previously rumored, will swap first-round draft picks in this year's NFL Draft with the Denver Broncos Friday, April 27, in exchange for the Broncos' second-round pick, No. 56 overall. The Broncos would select Mississippi LB Patrick Willis.

Yesterday the Texans said they had no intention of trading their pick.

Updating a previous item, John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans are not working on a trade with the Denver Broncos involving the 10th overall pick.

The Denver Post, and a lot of the newspapers here in Colorado, have also been saying the Broncos are after Willis as they no longer have Al Wilson...this sounds legit to me.

Here we go............... :woot:

This is GREAT news for us. This means teams 10+ know he will be gone.

Buffalo, SF, Carolina you want him??? Make an offer!!

Now I'm only a fan...but it's kinda stupid to let the rest of the NFL know who your after...before you pick.

So if I'm to believe all the rumors floating around...then it seems just about every team in the NFL will either trade up or down (or both) tomorrow.

Although this rumor makes sense and he'd be a good fit in Denver.

Unless its not really who they want. I've heard they are high on Staley as well.

I'd like to see us make that trade.

This would bode well for us. Houston would end up @ 21. We could trade down a little further, acquire another pick and still be in line to get Staley or Brown.

I've believed the Texans were the main competition for LT with us in the mid/late round part of the draft. I feel it's assumed Thomas will be gone long before 9.

Now, Houston went from 8 to 10... and could go to 21. That gives us a LOT of flexibility now.
