#1...PLAYCALLING.

Dan Henning clearly needs at a minimum, a good chewing from WVDolphan. At the most he could use a shovel across the back of his head.

First we had the QB sneak on 2nd and long around midfield....WTF WAS THAT???

Second, the absolute refusal to attempt scoring a TD on the drive that resulted in our 2nd FG. WTF WAS THAT?????

The other problems I had was the insistancy on going wildcat in really dumb situations. The one where we fortunately scored a TD to Bess on 3rd down comes to mind. Here we are with Pennington lighting them up all the way down the field, and he goes wildcat on 2nd down when not only had the formation not had any success all day, but Ronnie was doing absolutely NOTHING all day, especially out of the wildcat. In fact the only success that play really had was the handoff to Ricky. Still, my point being, just keep throwing the ball. Here is a lock down run D that was killing us all day long, and a D that was riddled by the pass last week, was missing a starter in the secondary, and Pennington had just moved it down the field on them and was in rhythm. Stupid call.

Now I know we dont have Reggie Wayne, Manning, and Harrison, but we shouldve emphasized the passing game more today and really went after them through the air.

The other call I can remember being signifigantly STUPID was the one I just witnessed on 3rd down. Why did he go wildcat again on 3rd and 10 even though it was a different play with a handoff to Cobbs on an end around. Again, not only do we need to score being down 2 TDs, but time is of the essence and we had ZERO success running all day. Just throw it dude. Plus we wound up burning a TO going into 4th down. Stupid call.

Culprit #2......

Chad Pennington. Overall he played OK, but that HUGE mistake with the INT to Suggs was a back breaker. I cant get on him too hard, simply because he has played so well for us all year and he did play so so in todays game. But, that was a HUGE error that mightve cost us this game.

Culprit #3.......

The DL. They just got straight up BULLIED starting in that 3rd Qtr and it lead to the big TD drives that Baltimore got. Basically we got owned up front today. Dissapointing to see. Solails sorry *** couldve actually helped today with Ferguson getting dinged.

And finally, havent we seen by now that Ted Ginn is EXPLOSIVE on kick returns. WTF is Sparano still doing letting Bess return punts? Not only is Ginn a game changer, Bess more or less blows at returning. He makes very poor decisions out there.

Thats all for now, and I hate to dissappoint the people who figured they would open this up and see me bashing Ronnie for not contributing much today, but hey where was he gonna run??? There just wasnt anything there for our RBs all day.

OH man, they just dumped the gatorade bucket on Scam Cameron. Makes this all worse. Cam blows. Id like to punch him in his face right now.

And why dosent BP get a bra on and get off his fat *** and get down there and coach the team. Stop half assing it dude. If you want to go to the horse racing track and other stuff like that, then go. Just go and dont be a part time employee. Get down there and coach the team yourself. Sparano is not doing terrible, but BP could clearly do better. I like the attitude Sparano brings to the team. But, he is a really good OL coach and certainly isnt on the level of BP as a HC. Im not saying he blows, dont get me wrong. He just isnt BP.

Good analysis, i had pretty much the same feelings about the game. As opposed to people blaming the loss solely on Pennington for 1 pick.

Not putting the secondary in there?

They allowed first downs on every single third down, and never tackled when the opposing receiver caught the football.

:lol: thats all i could do after that call

I would agree and I would emphasize the DL play... They are making our bad secondary look even worse... You have got to find ways to get to a rookie QB and rattle him... Flacco had too much time and since we are all admitting the secondary is in dire straits the burden has to fall to the DL to help them out... Where was Merling Roth or Langford?

One of the big differences is the fact that the Ravens took advantage of the opportunity Chad gave them and returned it for a TD. We just don't have any of those guys anywhere on our defense. We've had our guys get balls in their hands all year and not be able to do anything about it, except for a few lucky opportunities last week that were God-given.

This is why, all things considered, I think Jason Allen deserves a shot to play somewhere. At least he had a knack for getting turnovers last year.

I feel the same way. The play calling was so bad today, i thought Mike Mullarkey was calling the plays for us again. I know the running game wasn't working, but they couldn't find a way to make it work. They just kept calling the same running plays and using the wildcat formation. It didn't work in the first 3 quarters so why try it in the 4th? The defense just came out flat in the 3rd and they just ran all over us. It seemed like we left the Ravens WR's wide open. Wow, today just sucked.

I would judge Penny a little more harshly. He just wasn't on most of the fist half, missing wide open receivers. Didn't play horribly just not winning football. Oh yea, arm strength is an issue, especially on 3rd down.

Bad playcalling and Bad defense this game, and an incredibly stupid throw by Penningtion cost us the game, simple as that.

What about...

For me the biggest culprits of the day were the defenders missing tackles all over the field. The Ravens don't look a lot more talented than the Dolphins, but they tackle well.

Combine that with the pick six and there's the two reasons we lost. It's particularly frustrating because this was supposed to be a team that was all about fundamentals and execution - missed tackles is a sign that whatever the coaching staff is doing for fundamental work just isn't gettting it done.

The offensive play calling was puzzling all day. I agree about the wildcat...when they used it, it seemed to be in strange situations. It wasn't working so they should have scrapped it at halftime. They were having success throwing the football; most of the day, but got super conservative inside the 20.

The Ravens D is good. And with two average to below average teams playing against each other, I'm not surprised the team with the better defense won. I didnt think we would win this one...and it held true.

Well, Chad Pennington did make a mistake, but he has been doing well and it not going to be perfect every game and threw an INT. But the fact of the matter is this. The team could have still put it together and win even with that. Where my thoughts mostly are is upon the defense. 27 points is not acceptable and they were just getting beat by the Ravens ground game and getting beat in the air. The Ravens are not exactly an offensive juggernaut, yet Miami's defense made them look that way.

who cares if we win any more, we cant control if we win so dont so dont get bent out of shape, for the dolphins.

Not putting the secondary in there?

True. However I think we have established that our secondary blows and that it is only effective when the front 7 gets pressure on the QB. I dont think anyone is counting on the secondary.

But, that is an excellent point about the tackling. No matter how poorly they cover, the tackling MUST improve. Thats just fundamentals there. No excuse for the piss poor tackling efforts by the secondary. Anyone else notice Y.Bell having a rough go when it came to tackling today, although he did get that key strip that almost gave us a chance.
