HC Joe Philbin said he told OC Bill Lazor to run the ball on third down to set up the punt.

Joe Philbin said he's not going to get in LB Philip Wheeler's comments about "50 percent" poor coaching comment.

Philbin says Misi wasn't "ready to go on final play." As for Wheeler "sometimes LBs cover TEs on plays."

Philbin: Running game was inconsistent. Can't say we did much running the football.

JP admits CBs were "a little too deep" on multiple plays during Green Bay's last drive -- including Fake Spike

HC Joe Philbin said "I get paid to make decisions" when it comes to some of the coaching gaffes against the #Packers

JP admits "it didn't turn out to be the right decision" to call TO with 6 secs to play. Done in past, will consider doing again in future.

Philbin: I have to get us off to a better start offensively.

Joe Philbin very conciliatory today. Nice change. Said he needs 2 b better. Willing to discuss calls. Showed awareness

Joe Philbin fell on the sword for the Packers loss. That's what a head coach does. BUT, will it fix this team's problems?
@OmarKelly

Reports say Philbin instructed Lazor to be aggressive on that last drive. Now he says he instructed Lazor to run the ball on that final third down. Either reports are wrong or Philbin is taking the blame or Philbin simply changed the game plan to conservative on the third down. I'm going with my last option. After the incompletion on second down stopped the clock he probably decided he needed to run as much time off the clock as possible.

Oh i knew who told lazor to set up that punt. Joe is just a coward. I said this in another thread, i defended him so far in his career because he was new to coaching so,i kind of shrugged off a couple of his boneheaded moves in the past butit is clear as day that joe philbin is in way over his head and he just doeant get it and never will. Based on the plays prior to the run to set up the punt we looked like we were going for the first down to try and close . out the game then philbin gets all scared and plays not to lose. We need a coach with a go for the jugular mentality, a coach who,is aggressive in his mindset who tries to close out the game instead of playing not to lose.

I dont mean we need a hothead guy whos screaming like crazy or a blubbering idiot like rex ryan....ido nt care that philbins quiet but we need someone who knows what the **** theyre doing. Philbin is just clueless on gameday.

When talking about why he opted to run on 3rd down on final series Joe Philbin brought up the flashback of the 1st Bills loss last year.

On the last drive it looked like the plan was lets run the clock, no let's win the game and nevermind run the clock.

if we recover rodgers fumble we arent even discussing the decision to just punt it to them. But i am growing tired of philbins poor game management. I liked that he went for it on 4th down early in the game tho. I just wish philbin would prepare this team better, you never know what team your getting on sundays under philbin. Im not advocating fire him now or anything but if we dont make the playoffs i really dont see him being here next year.

That's a good point but this offensive line is blocking much better.

I would post up Coyle's comments but I think it just might get people more upset...well here is two.

Coyle: Everyone's making a big deal about fake spike. If fake spike had been a TD it would've been a bigger issue.

Coyle: Unless we sign a couple guys against the Heat, we're going to have size discrepecancy going against Bears WRs.

Actually that would have been better because we could have at least had the ball with 1 TO and a chance to tie or win.

Great QBs like Aaron Rodgers use up every second they possibly can to score game winners and leave you with no hope.

His comment about signing some guys from the Heat to take on the Bears receivers was funny. What else could he say?

The thing that bothers me most about the play calling on our last drive was that everyone knew the Packers were prepared to stop the run. And their weakness was their cornerbacks at that point. Why didn't we stretch the field a bit and threw a screen to Wallace or something? Just some high percentage pass where you don't stop the clock, you at least have a chance for three, four, five yards and you attack their weakness. That's what I was expecting during that drive.

Offense got bailed out with a hands to the face by some dumb arse on GB.
Had that not happened Green bay scores with enough time left for RT to stare at Hartline and invite a game sealing INT...

I think the bigger picture is that the change of strategy is an indictment on Philbin's confidence in Tannehill. Because giving Aaron Rodgers 2:15 on the clock to execute a drive is more than enough time. Further, if Rodgers were the Dolphins QB instead of Tannehill, the probability that a run play is called on 3rd down is 0%.
