Per rotoworld the Dolphins have interest in Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley.

While he was Head Coach of Kansas City he was too strong of a disciplinarian and lost the job, but not before getting G the most out of his offense. In Pittsburgh as OC, he initially clashed with Big Ben, but that lead to career topping numbers for Ben and Pittsburgh as well.

Haley has succeeded with big receivers like Dwayne Bowe, small receivers like Antonio Brown, scat backs like Jamaal Charles, and bigger backs like Leveon Bell. He molds his scheme to his personnel and he gets the most out of his players.

According to those in Pittsburgh, he has mellowed a lot from his Kansas City days. He consistently puts up good offenses and is an excellent Offensive Coordinator.

I think he is ready to become a good Head Coach. With Suh, Jones and the talent here in Miami, we should be able to attract a good Defensive Coordinator and let Haley build a top offense that excels at both the run and pass.

IMHO We would be wise to strongly consider Todd Haley.

This is an interesting spin on the retread option. The retread who failed at stint number 1.

Typically we debate about retreads who actually had some success previously. This option is about recycling a failure who we hope will not be once again.

No friggin thanks.

There is not a :bobdole: big enough for how I feel about this.

What the ****, guys?

Are you serious? Are you kidding me? Is this for real?

**** no. Please. No, God. No.

Who aren't we interested in right now? The Dolphins have been tied to almost everyone. Just flipping stones and doing there due diligence.

The guy is an ass hat. I really think we've had enough drama for a decade.... We do not need more.

Interview, ponder, next candidate.

Wow 11 games with Matt Cassel.

Shanahan won his fair share w/ Bob. Point?

Concur. There is a quantifiable track record when you consider Todd had issues in AZ too

p.s. Sarnics wins the internet for using the word asshat

If he's mellowed out bring him in for an interview. Far down my list, but no doubting his football acumen and ability to whip these babies we got on the roster into shape.

I like Shanahan, Jackson and Haley, they are my top 3. Not interested in a first timer this go round. They all seem extremely smart (something rare for us) and are hard asses with admittedly big egos. You don't doubt that they would find ways to make our offense work and not look overmatched when the bright lights come on. I'm pretty sure they all could field a good staff too. Why not try something new for once? Belichek and Carroll were retreads too.

This guy may or may not have mellowed but his default is combative loose cannon. Most people can go against their native behavioral inclinations consciously for only so long. It's like swimming upstream until your arms get tired. With some conflict or stress, he'll revert back to being a contentious asshole. He had issues in AZ, issues in KC and then issues in Pitt. How many times can that be rationalized away? He's meant to be an OC.

With all the seemingly viable candidates available and only so many jobs to go around, if we end up with him, I'll be as bombastic as if it is Mangini.

I am not a fan of Haley as HC
He is a more useful engine as OC

Big Ben's numbers have been sick though. It's the kind of offensive philosophy we need here, with the qb the FO believes in.
