13. Miami Dolphins*

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

The No. 5 player on our board, Elliott has the skill set to be an every-down RB from Day 1. He's an exceptional blocker and a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, while also showing great vision and suddenness in the open field. The Dolphins need some semblance of a run game to take the pressure off QB Ryan Tannehill.

*Acquired in the Byron Maxwell/Kiko Alonso trade

42. Miami Dolphins: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State

He's an explosive athlete with elite measurables, but that doesn't show up on tape frequently enough. Ogbah needs to play with more consistent effort, improve as a hand fighter and develop more of an plan as a pass-rusher.

McShay has the Eagles taking Stanley because Jason Peters is 34 years old & breaking down

No way Elliot is there at Miami's pick.

ogbahs very raw with the pass rush...that pick range makes sense to me...as does the wide 9 ideal fit

having a real hard time finding guys for Miami at pick 13 who validate a top 15 pick and should be there...I just can't find 5 targets in this class...hell I cant find 3 even

at least getting ogbah in the 2nd would make up for elliott in the 1st. i doubt either are there though. elliott is the best in an iffy class so someone will overdraft him, and ogbah's just really good with length, athleticism, and a game that translates well to the pros

Disagree strongly. Elliot may very well be there.

Shall Lawson
Kevin Dodd
Derron Lee
William Jackson
Vernon Hargreaves
Eli Apple
Jack Conklin

My guess is it is from that list and that is why they bailed down to 13 because they knew most of those guys would be there.

gonna be a lot of overdrafting in this class in terms of where a guys actual talent should have him and what his value would be relative to other classes

I can see that already...

There is absolutely no way one of the top 2 picks isnt a cb, no way

So according to McShay, we're going to wait until the 3rd round before we draft a CB? Whatever floats his boat I guess.

I don't. I see players that the Fins can use immediately at 13. All about system fit. Maybe Miami does not go CB and comes back in the 2nd with Xaxien Howard. I just don't think he is there.

You really think Ogbah lasts that long? If he does im all for that value, then we could have a solid prospect behind wake and could go OL or CB first pick.

I think it is ultimately CB too, but the question is who? That will be the debate.

I doubt he does in this class but he would in a lot of them...at least be in the early round 2 range...he's not good lined up tight to the formation either at the poa or with the pass rush cause he has no arsenal...so some teams wont see him as a fit for what they do...everything I see says line me up as wide as possible (wide 9) and let the explosion athlete and burst player gain as much momentum and space before he reaches the tackle kicking out to allow for the athlete to make plays...there's no refinement in his pass rush...

guys like cody whitehair would make it to our 2nd round pick in most classes too but I doubt he will and those would be 2 of my primary targets if they did get there...ogbah for the wide 9 and whitehair for guard...whitehair while not the most rangy or foot athlete has outstanding awareness and is good at the 2nd level

we are gonna end up looking at a josh garnett value at 42 probably who is a sluggish space and move athlete and on the ground a lot...the tapes good but the athletes ehh and when guys get outside of his frame he doesn't recover...if his hands punch you inside he can handle you but you get outside his frame and the sluggish athlete has him off balance and leaning/reaching

I think we'll address CB within the first 2 rds myself, it's just a matter of who're we getting. Drafting a pass rusher that high also wouldn't hurt my feelings. Good to great pass rushers are almost as needed and wanted as good to great QBs are.
