On Espn.com where they videos are Todd McShays talks about the dolphins in the draft. He says we are in kind of a bad spot at 9 because the Elite players in the top 7, he predicts us picking Jamaal Anderson DE, Arkansas #1, Joe Staley LT Central Michigan #2, and Kevin Kolb Houston #3 (if Quinn doesnt fall to us) He says that Kolb is a project player but could be the steal of the draft.

i wouldnt have a problem with this and we could draft d'juan woods instead of taking wr ashlie i would dance naked and pee on the jets logo in midfield.:sidelol: :sidelol:

I'm not too excited about that first day draft.

if that's our first day draft this year. I guarantee you I will NOT be ordering NFL sunday ticket.

I have to go throw up now.

It may not be the sexy draft but thats the type of draft we absolutely need. Id prefer one of the DTs to Anderson myself though; preferably Branch but Okoye is going to be an absolute monster. If we can land Staley in the second round thats an absolute steal. And while Im not a big fan of Kolb myself, if you dont think this team could use a project QB you are out of your mind.

screw that draft with the largest screw you can find... i'd be very upset. if we do go defense it better be Landry, Adams, or Branch, and in that order..

Well, I am sure he said Jamaal Anderson for us with the feeling that both Adams and Branch would already be gone. In that case, I would much rather have Landry. Dude looks like the closest thing to a surefire stud in the draft that isn't named Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas.

Todd McShay is clueless. He always is. Mike Mayock is by far always the closest one to hit many on the money. And Kiper Jr is second.

McShay is ignoring the fact that we are going after Joey Porter and have Roth and Holiday at starting DE along with Rod Wright. No need for Jamaal Anderson. This preview was also "prior" to Joey Porter being cut. So that needs to be taken into consideration. I dont see Jamall Anderson as having the ability to play SLB. So I dont see the logic.

Alan Branch? Yes. Okoye? Possible as well. Why? Because of the report from the Miami Herald stating that MIA will not be re-signing Keith Traylor and are thinking about cutting Dan Wilkinson as well.

So that leaves only Manny Wright, Fred Evans, and Steve Fifita as our only NTs on the roster along with Big Daddy, who hasnt been cut as of yet.

If it is true, and we cut Big Daddy and/or dont re-sign Traylor...it is pretty obvious that we will draft a NT in either the 1st or 2nd round of the draft.

Branch and Okoye are possibilities in the 1st round. And Tank Tyler is a possibility at #40.

Nevertheless, whether we draft a NT or not...the fact that Kevin Vickerson was not tendered...means that either Fred Evans or Manny Wright will be looked at behind Holiday at RE/RDT.

So I doubt that MIA cuts ties with "both" Traylor "and" Big Daddy. I think that it would be wise to keep at least "one" veteran NT. Instead of having all "young" guys.

Manny, Evans, Fifita, and the rookie(Branch,Okoye,Tyler) has no starting experience in the NFL. Just my take on it.

100% Agree

If we don't get Quinn, I want Landry.

Great post!

Wonderful post! Couldn't agree with you more!

I read so many stupid postings DAILY here that whenever I run across something truly insightful I feel compelled to comment myself!

Great Job!

You're right, if TRAYLOR isn't resigned then we're going for a NT in the 1st or 2nd round. With Jake Plummer retiring rather than being dealt to TAMPA BAY, the odds of QUINN falling to #9 just became zero, so PLEASE let's let that go.

I think that what MUELLER wants at #9 is more picks. I don't think there's any player on the board at #9 that warrants top ten money. We need to slide back to #18 - #25 in the first round and add an additional second round pick or better, 2 third rounders and a fourth. WE NEED YOUNG BODIES.

Jimmy Johnson parlayed our draft of 7 picks into 11 picks his first year and he hit on a BUNCH of good talent! We need to do the same. If we can slide back from #9 and still stay in the 20's but add 2 more first day pics, that would be PRICELESS!

Right now we pick THREE of the best 96 college players in America. Only the top 7 are worth big money. We should slide down and end up picking FIVE of the top 96 players. Just imagine more talent like Patrick Surtain (second round) and Channing Crowder (third round) filling our team with fresh legs and desire. Veterans are nic and all, but without additional picks this rebuilding will take 4 or 5 years. We need to stockpile picks and hit on 75% of them, and we have the guy to do it, Mueller.

GO PHINS!!!!!!
