Todd Mcshays AFC East draft ranking

My rankings would be:

Dolphins- Rebuilding the DL/OL for 1-15 is a must. And I believe the Dolphins added alot of young talent to both.

New England- Man do I hate Pats. But that FO always seems to do an incredible job drafting. They traded down 3 spots, picked up more draft picks and still got the player they woulld have drafted 7. Jared Mayo IMO could be better than all the other Linebackers/DEs picked ahead of him. Got their CB, a good OLB in Crable, and the most underrated QB in the draft.

Bills- They also draft pretty well. McKelvin is going to be awesome. Harvey is a big wideout and should compliment Lee Evan really well.

Jets- Never was huge on Gholston. Coaches at Ohio State almost benched him before last season, but could prove to be a good player. Trading back into the first round to get Keller was not a good move. Im not sure he was the best TE in the draft, and definately wasnt the most polished.

ya but what we goin to do about WR? prob next year in FA adn draft along with CB.

next year we prob go WR, CB, LBers, and depth/talent enfusion.
this year we covered linemen on O and D but u konw D linemen will STILL COME NO MATTER what he always picks em.

 I wont even begin to try and predict our positions of need for NEXT YEARS draft. First, I never thought we would go QB so early this year. Just to give an example of how things can change. Who knows? Maybe Teddy becomes a Pro Bowler, Bess is the next Welker, and Lehan comes out of nowhere to have a fantastic year.

Unlikely? Sure. But it COULD happen.

NE always does an ioncredible job drafting? Check their previous 3-4 drafts and let me know what you think. NE is automatically given good draft gardes every year but the last 3-4 years those picks have not turned out well.

No one is huge on Gholston now but had Miami drafted him we would have heard how great it is all across the board.

'04: Nothing after the 1st 2 picks but Wilfork and Watson are good players.
'05: Mankins is a decent player, Hobbs was a starter b/c they didn't have anyone else. he's a good return man, not a good corner. he was embarrassed by Plaxico on the SB winning TD. Sanders satretd for the 1st time last year- do you realize that the secondary was a weak spot for NE last year? Just b/c a player starts(and it took him and Hobbs 3 years to start) doesn't make it a good pick.
'06: Mauroney is a dime a dozen back, David Thomas has 12 recs in 2 years in a pass happy offense. He is not a starting TE(at least he wasn't last year). Gostokowski is a good K
'07: Merriweather didn't start as a rookie and the D was at it's worst in the playoffs and SB so if he then started that doesn't say alot about him. Trading a 2nd and 7th for Welker was asinine, any WR could have done what he did. The Moss trade was obviously great but this is about draft picks not about what they got in trades.

It's a little early to evaluate last year's draft but the other drafts we can evaluate and those drafts were mediocre. yes they got a few good players here and there but not like they were pre-'04.

Are there really people out there who care what Todd McShay says?

You have no arguement nyjunk. First Pioli is one of the best in the business. Second, they are not going to have as many rookies makeing the team b/c the players they have are very good. If you have a lot of draft picks makeing your team...that's a bad sign for the team you currently have. Pioli is very sharp. He's the guy that keep that team rolling personel wise.

Todd McShay is a tool.

That's fun to say ... don't believe me, try it ... you just smiled didn't you.

I agree. I've looked over the predraft rankings and it appears prior to the draft taking Mayo at 10 would be considered a reach, N.E. takes him and they are brilliant. People say we, who have no QB, taking a QB other than Ryan is insanely stupid, N.E. drafts a QB in the third..."Brilliant!"

I love N.E.'s draft. of course it could turn out good but it doesn't scare me.

hobbs held palxico to 27 yds and 1 TD.He was the No1 receiver,Now you are going to explain that if randymoss is held to 27 yds and 1 TD in say the AFC champsionship by revis you would call him ordinary too?

Logan mankins is one of the most solid young gaurds in NFL.Name another 25 yr probowl gaurd who is considered as best. He was called a major reach as 32 as he was a 2nd round/3rd round grade.Does that matter as long anymore as in 2005 redraft after assessing after 3 yrs he as the 7th over all.

When rodney tore is ACL sanders started 15 games as strong safety .Last year when he was went down he started 4.He plays against SD type run heavy offence as a FS was needed in pass friend formation.

4th rated defence and no1 scoring defence was just ordinary. ...i mean they are just bad defence.

I think explaining that anyone can do what wes did was confusing. As far merriweather goes he did a good job,the OL got handled in the SB .You cannot sum SB with the playoff.

I think maroney is good , when called upon on bad weather game and playoff he ran over 100 yrds in every one of the game.

Yeah man but that 1 TD and about 15 of those yards was for the game winning TD.
