I loved poole and i really like Toledo but is this guy going to ever play for the Dolphins. He seems to be projected as a starter on the Offensive line but I am wondering if he will ever pan out? What are your thoughts Dolphin Fans?:ninja:

Go Fins.:D

I wouldn't really compare the two. Poole tore his ACL while Toledo is coming back from a broken foot. The latest X-rays showed no new damage, and he is only experiencing some soreness. He should be fine and ready to go for TC.

Also, he won't start, but should be a decent backup this season.

You are exactly right, and there are more problems than that at tackle.

Carey is unproven at LT and struggled there his rookie season. Shelton was a disaster at LT last year and now they are hoping he can play RT, we'll see.
Toledo can't stay healthy long enough to play, Alibi is still hurt, and Rosenthal has been slowed by injuries his last few years. That leaves Julius Wilson and Marion Dukes, both undrafted rookies, possibly trying to play the other tackle spot. I thought our draft was pretty good, and we have serious depth at OC and OG now, but not a lot of help at tackle. This is going to be the Dolphins achilles heel all season.

GO PHINS~!

Toledo did miss all last year and it was not from a broken foot that he got when he slipped after a hot tub soak at the end of the season. He had another injury shoulder or something , anybody?

He had another injury, but the hot tub incident is why he is not on the practice field right now.

No he hurt his knee in preseason and as always, it was initially diagnosed as a minor knee injury and then he was out for the entire season. Apparently in December, he broke his foot slipping in a sauna or getiing out of hot tub (full of naked babes?). Then he was fine in the April minicamp but he reaggravated it prior to the recent May minicamp. It's fine to be optimistic about his recent setback but the guy was injury prone in college and nothing has changed with the Dolphins. Make no mistake about it, he is not a back-up if he's healthy, he's a starter, but these type of guys have a knack for getting injured and staying injured.

yeah but was it his shoulder i thought i remember something about his knee but if someone remebers please fill us in.

lol someone already said it was his knee silly me but it wasnt posted till i posted

Carey played started at LT Saban first year. Mcdougle and Mcintosh could not handle the RT spot.Carey was shifted to RT and Mcintosh was sent to LT. As for Toledo the guy had no playing time his Rookie year and Poole played his rookie year. I think you guys need to relax a little and let things develope. Toledo should be alright by the beginning of the TC.

i will give you a "straight from the horses mouth" answer. he came into the pro shop with, i assume, his girlfriend. i asked him the same thing...because I know he was on the injured list practically all year last year. he said right now things were lookin good and he was hoping to START. this is straight from his mouth. now, i didn't get to see him play per say, just walk around the store. and i'm not a coach, so i don't know. this is just what toledo told me!

Why so sure he doesn't start???? He was slated to start at one time last fall before he was injured. I don't think he has gotten worse has he?

Didn't I read he has lost a little weight?

He will have gained knowledge and a little maturity even while physically injured.

Perhaps he will be a little better than last year.

I really don't think we want Liewenski starting and the coaches have said they want mobile gaurds who can pull. Isn't Toledo known for his athleticism when healthy?

And what about him competing at OT ? Shelton isn't exactly a pro-bowler.

You are very misinformed...

Carey played great at LT. He didnt play his rookie year... but during the Training Camp of his sophomore year (2005).

The ONLY reason why he was moved to RT was because we had signed McDougle that year to be our RT. And he blew a camel's dick. So, since McAweful couldnt play, we had to replace him. Our 2 tackles were Carey and McIntosh. And out of the 2, Carey was most equiped to play RT... since McIntosh is only a LT... and Carey can play either.

I saw him in person go up against JT many times in practice that year, and I was stunned by his performance (for basicly being a rookie). JT definatly beat him a couple of times... but its JT. However, Carey was exceeding his expectations. He even pancaked JT. It made me mad as hell that we didnt even give him a shot the year before.

Also, Carey's best skill is pass protection... not run blocking. At RT, you want more of a mauler on the strong side. Carey, while he has the size... wasnt that. He sealed his blocks very well, but didnt get a lot of push. However, in pass pro, he has handled top pass rushers in this league... speed rushers as well.

Those are the skills of a LT... not a RT...

He will be our future LT. Trust me...

im stoked about carey hes been our best olinmen for 2 years now
