While I am not usually one to enjoy the misfortunes of others, I cant help but recognize the karmic justice that has been served. For too long the Pats organization were a bunch of smug smart *****, and had him on the damn injury report for 3 straight years....things like that mess with the integrity of the game and defeats the whole purpose of the way things are structured...we'll see how Bill Bellichick fares as his shortcuts start to dwindle.
 
Hate to see someone get hurt...I have myself suffered a torn ACL. Sux!

But, this makes things in the East VERY interesting.

how crazy would it be if this was like the drew bledsoe thing and it's just a passing of the baton for the NE QB's and Cassell becomes a perenial pro bowler.
 
Cassell wont be starting come week 3 imo. They're bringing in Chris Simms for a work out today and expect he signs by tomorrow, is it an improvement? Not really sure.

Dude did pass fopr 100+ yards in relief right? I'm not going to track down the stat line, but, he won the game and performed well. That's pretty much what you want your backup QB to do, right?
 
We ripped the Chiefs up in preseason. The Patriots barely won the damn game. The division is up for grabs and it suddenly makes those games v.s the Pats a lot more winnable.

I took a look at our schedule and it's really not all that tough. Let's string together 15 wins guys.
