Tom Heckert: Browns “fine with Colt McCoy,” may trade

We should trade down regardless. You don't buy a lime green leisure suit just because you need a suit. Trade down, take good players, see who comes available when they're worth it.

nobody is going to trade up to draft Tannehill. He's a huge reach at #8, it would be crazy to even consider him earlier when you have so many top graded players that are ahead of him. That's why I'm not sure we are even going to draft him at #8. Like mentioned before, we could trade back in the first round, probably still get him and pick up another pick in the process. It's a gamble, but drafting him at #8 is a bigger gamble in my opinion.

It is no gamble at all if you believe he is your future franchise QB. Whether at 8 or at 18, if the end result of "franchise QB" is th verdict, we got a great deal and didn't need to do like Washington did to make it happen. Washington gave up 3 first rounders and a 2nd and there is no guarantees on RGIII either, for us to only give up the #8 pick . . . there is no gamble in that IMO. If they pass, I think the play is Weeden and you could see Miami trade back up to make that happen.

Honestly, no thanks. If it weren't for Barkley being there next year, I would draft Blackmon, then trade our first round next year for a mid first round pick this year and get Coby Fleener.

But I think our team is not going to do well next year and 2-14 might be a reality.

The Browns would stupid to trade back. There Re some elite talents sitting there to be had with their pick. Blackmon or Claiborne would look good in the browns jersey. Unless someone is giving them a ton of picks which I can't see happen. But you neve know. W better not trade up.

Tannehill is not even worth a first round pick.

Unless we plan on trading up for Blackmon I say trade down and get more picks.

Why is everyone so worried about Tannehill? I have not seen anything from him that screams franchise qb like luck or rg3? I certainly think it a reach to trade up for him. Like others in the thread I would attempt to trade down if i wanted him. For the Dophins brass to use even their 8th pick on him they better be sure he is a franchise qb in their estimation.

It's amazing to me that people who say they follow football take statements like this at face value. You would think by now people would hear or read a quote of this kind and derive that more than likely the exact opposite is true, but somehow gullibility manages to perpetuate itself.

This quote is actually bad news for those -- like me -- who want Tannehill. Either way if Cleveland is planning to trade down, it's to take Weeden, more than likely. Then we trade down thinking all is well and Kansas City takes Tannehill and the Dolphins once again are left holding the ****bag.

Why move up to #4 when Luck and RG3 are going to be taken #1 and #2? If someone wants Tannehill at #4 let them have him.

cleveland aint takin tannehill at 4. its richardson. have you seen cleveland make a run at a RB in FA?

They left Peyton Hillis walk. I agree its probaly Richardson for the Browns, possibly Blackmon. They havent made a run at a QB either. I believe they like us may be in postion to wait atleast round 2 for a QB. Colt Mccoy is still young, how many years did we give Henne? Give the man weapons of some sort.

i'm interested in hearing why you want tannehill??? i assume you've looked at some of his college stuff and have come to this conclusion so please explain???

If Tannehill ends up being a quality QB, was he worth a 1st roun pick? If Tannehill ends up being a top QB, was he worth a top 10 pick?

I understand what your saying, but like a few around here have said, if you as a team believe he is going to be a franchise QB, you do whatever it takes to get him.

Right now the two things we do know for sure is, he has the highest ceiling of any of the QBs coming out this year, and we have his HC (Who knows better then anyone what he is worth) on our team. Let things fall where they may.
