Just saw it on espn, they asked weather these guys would take ricky back an djacksom said no bc of what ricky did to the team last season (which he thinks is making them go 4-12). this is really unfair, we all know about the o line problems, coaching issues, and qb?offense issues that were goin on...in my opinion, with ricky in last season we win no more then 6 games and probly injure ricky giving him th eball 35+ times a game.

what do u guys think? what was rickys effect on our record last season?

I agree with what he said he did cost a coaching staff a job and he is only back because of the money but in the long run it was all worth it IMO.

That just shows how good Ricky is. To me it seems like he retired not quit and the whole team quit.

I generally like TJ...however, his adament "I was a former player" attitude and ego made him sound likea clueless analyst when giving his diatribe about whether he would or would not accept Ricky back on his team. It went to show how clouded his view is, and how clueless analysts are about the Dolphins.

TJ went on to say Ricky cost a coach his job and veteran players a year of their careers.

WTF is TJ on???? Dave Wannstedt is a diabolical disgrace to the NFL, and perhaps to college coaching as well. He hass single handedly destroyed every program he has come in contact with as a coach...and TJ is saying Ricky cost WANNY HIS JOB!?!?! And Ricky cost the vets a year of their career...and not Wanny!?!? Wanny would have taken YEARS off Ricky's CAREER if Ricky stayed and Wanny continued to use him as he wanted to.

QB, O-line, not stopping the run, and crappy gameplanning/offensive playcalling....is what gave us a 4-12 year. Ricky being their would not have given us 5 more wins last year!!

and you are a Dolphin fan that actually follows the team??? You really think that Ricky is why we went 4-12??

thank god he left, he got wanny fired and we got the next shula, it is a new year and the day of attonement has past i have forgiven him

I respect TJ. He has his opinion, i dont agree with it, but i respect it. Ricky was the reason for 4-12 probably. With ricky we probably could of gone 8-8, and wanny would be the coach.

In a way Ricky was the reason we went 4-12. Our team was built around him, but Wanny is the reason we went 4-12.

Sure he didn't have any time to react to Ricky leaving the day before TC, but he should've adjusted to the RBs we had. Minor isn't that good, but why would we consistently try a power running game with a guy that is 5-8 and about 180 lbs and an OL that couldn't get any push up the middle? The one thing I will give McKinney,Hadnot, and James credit for last year (Wheatly was useless) was that they pulled very well.

We were 4-12 because we tried a power running game with a speed back(Minor), a big guy that runs off the tackles(Morris), and two scrubs (Henry and King).

When you lose a key player you adjust your system, not try and make guys fit into your system (a mistake Wanny has still yet to learn)

No one here can tell me that before Ricky retired last year they could say they felt Miami would go 4 and 12.

RopeWeed's retirement, coupled with the 17(?) players that ended up on IR for the season (esp. L. Chester and TimBo) are the largest reasons for 4-12.

Even on Total Access on the NFL Network... Zach was saying that the team quit in a game last year...
Ricky was the straw that broke the back.... But if he got injured in preseason, it would've been the same story.

Ricky is an excellent excuse for a team that were exposed to what they really were.
For me, i was infuriated that Ricky Left... (I dont hate him though!) But at the same time.. perhaps his act of selflishness was the biggest gift the team could've asked for.
we are a much more rounded team, better coached... good players actually want to come here now...
There are alot of positives coming out of this. i say thank you Ricky for being so confused...

What's Minnesota's excuse this year then?

The reason for 4-12 was Wannsuck!
We were 10-6 the year before with Wannsuck. Anyone who thinks we would have still been 4-12 with Ricky is crazy. 6 losses within a touchdown? Ricky would have gotten that extra score on at least a few of them.

Agreed. There were a lot of reasons...Ricky being one.
