He looks like a beast who could be a road grader at LG. Obviously Hudson Houk is high on him.

Is his weight the issue? :confused:

Good question....not much has been said about his playing time lately. I'm under the impression that he is a second string guy till the end of the season. His weight must be an issue.... can't imagine being that big in the hot humid Miami training camp.

Haven't seen much from the big guy. He's big and can move the pile, but can he protect the QB?, that remains to be seen. I'd like to gve him a shot to compete for a starting OG spot next year though, he has a nastiness this team needs in the trenches...

I think he'd be better suited at RG because RG is usually a road grader type a mauler who usually is a bit less athletic than the other positions. I like him and remember wanting him when SD took him and I was pissed. His line coach then was HH and he really hasn't amounted to much with out him. maybe he becomes a beast again. but, right now shelton has been playing great as a RG. seems to be a great fit for him there cuz he so un-explosive he can just over power the man in front. If this becomes sheltons new POS he has to restructure his contract and fonoti become the swing guard I guess. would be a cheaper option but would give us great depth...someting we've never really had on the O-line!

Yeah Weight Must Be an Issue!

Guy's I was fortunate enough to view the Vikings game in W.H. suite and had pre-game on field and a special treat from The main man after the game with on-field and locker room greetings. Fonnoti is big! but he moves like a manatee. Maybe he was still pretty rusty but he barely could get out of a three point stance.

The reason he didnt make it in SD is his weight he has a real problem controlling it.

Fonoti is one gargantuan human being. He's listed as being 350 but he looks 380-400. If he came to us with his weight at a decent, I'd hate to hear what he weighed when it wasn't at a proper level!!!! He's the largest person to ever wear a Dolphin uniform.
