he would be a playmaker for us.... not to mention a mentor for our young reciever core

well he is a Tight end and we have two pretty good ones in fasano and martin.

Fasano has proven he can play and martin has greatly improved. How could he mentor wrs?

No thank you. He is still a great tight end and is still a major force in the NFL. With that said, to obtain him, you have to make a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs. They are likely not going to give him away, so it probably would take a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I personally like the duo of Fasano and Martin. Fasano was a go to target for Pennington and had 7 touchdowns, while Martin had his best year of his career. Sure those two didn't put up the numbers Gonzalez did, but they are still pretty good.

I think Fasano has what it takes to become a big time tight end in this league, and I would rather take my chances on the 24 year old, then trade away high picks for the 32 year old.

Huh??? Don't we have two TEs on our roster that are able to put up Pro Bowl numbers if called upon to in Fasano and Martin? Heck no to Tony Gonzalez. We don't have a need at TE.

We have a need at WR, once we cut Wilford, that's where we should be paying attention to....TJ Houshmandzadah anyone?

yeah i have no idea what i was thinkin i pretty much have downs

not sure if it was boredom that insipred this or not but if there is one position we dont need help its tight end.

ive been thinking about him he kills us , so lets get him

As great as he is I have to decline. Why give up a draft pick for a 33 year old? I happen to like our tight end core as well..Fasano,Martin and Haynos...:hclap:

The only two players I would trade picks for would Shawn Merriman and Nnamdi Asomougha...that's about it

Gonzalez can still play, but the TE position (shockingly) isn't a need for this team right now. Fasano and Martin both played very well this season, and we even got contributions from Joey Haynos. I like Gonzo as much as the next guy, but at this point in his career and with our situation at TE it's really not worth spending the draft pick on when we can use it for other needs.

I bet we draft a TE this year and he will probably be a stud. We can then run big sets with 2 TEs even better then this year. I say that because Martin had a great year, but he is mainly a receiving threat.
