We know that before this year, Tony had to do and live with Parcell's Flunkies, including Henning. The first year success was due to the WIldCat and Penny's accuracy. We also had enough defense left over from Saban to win 11 games against weak opponents.
The drafting of Pat White before year 2 showed how deluded Parcells had become after year 1.
The last 2 years of failure are traceable to Henning and Offensive Line issues. Poor drafting of guards and LBs is obvious. The OL has no depth. Pouncy was a good pick this year now that Ireland is free from Parcells.
We are in year 4 and the defense is easy to beat. Nolan is not disguising blitzes or coverages. Dansby was awesome his first year but the tackling this year is poor. Davis Island will not arrive in Miami anytime soon. The team seems injury prone and brittle, due to sissy practices.
On offense, red zone issues persist and hopefully Thomas is a sign of good things to come.
With that being said, Tony never asserted himself while Parcells was in charge. The poor drafts under Bill are evident.
Tony needs to get tougher and find players, if any, who has his back. Otherwise, he will return to New Haven with money but be regarded as a whore for Parcells and a failure.
