i agree. but nfl head coaches (besides belicheck) are too scared to do this. they are afraid they get BLASTED by the dumb *** media (and they can be pretty dumb at times) for their decision. do u remember the pats indy game a couple years back that belicheck went for it? he made the CORRECT call. and the media blasted him. tedy bruschi being an idiot saying hes not trusting his defense etc. sending the wrong message etc. (when in reality he WAS trusting his defense - that if they didnt get it they could hold in the red zone cause indy needed a TD) so coaches are scared. and they make their choices based on conservative conventional thinking and NOT what ACTUALLY gives them the best chance to win.

the fact of the matter IS with 8 minutes left and 4th and 1. your odds of winning severely diminish by punting the ball.

but with this dumb *** coach he would rather lose then hear about it in the media. but most coaches are the same way. doesnt make them correct tho. their thinking is actually flawed. saw another example of it in the baltimore tennessee game today actually.

i hate to say it but belicheck almost always gets these choices correct and hes the only one that does. he did it again today in fact.
