Lots of rookie HC mistakes already. Between burning second half timeouts and making horrible decisions on our last drive in that Texans game, he has not been very impressive. I know it's hard for a rookie head coach, but he needs to learn to manage the clock better, we should have HAD that texans game won if not for his bad decisions in the red zone...

Think about it this way, we COULD HAVE EASILY ran the clock down to 10 seconds, and kicked a field goal to go ahead in that game, instead he just punches it in with 2 minutes left and gives them the ball back.

dude, that was 3 weeks ago

we know, thats why his a rookie and his getting better

no we lost the texans game cause our secondary is terrible. regaurdless of coaching, that game was lost because of Andre Johnson.

you can't expect an offense to not score a touchdown as soon as they can. thats not how football works. They did their job, they scored. The defense didn't do its job. simple as that.

YOU DON'T USE YOUR OFFENSE TO PROTECT YOUR DEFENSE. You EXPECT your defense to do its job.

Only got through the second sentence to see one of the worst threads I have read here in a long time... 1 star

You must be kidding, you just get done starting a thread "why all the pessimism" and then you start this thread. Unreal.

We've already won 3 games!!!! Why complain? We have a bunch of new and young guys and we've been in every game except to Ravens game. Can't knock the coaching when the players are playing there a$$ off. Typical fans..............

So he had a bad game you mean? We were 1-15 last year, we got a new head coach, and we're 3-4 and heading toward a .500 season. If we somehow make the playoff's he's got a good chance of being coach of the year.

Did the Texans still have timeouts left? Because if they did we couldn't have run the clock down that far and then they would have only needed to kick a field goal to beat us.

Get rid of him!!! Cut Pennington!!! They all suck, trade who we can and cut the rest!!! Fire all these guys and bring in new guys!!!!

Wait, didn't we just win?

All I've said is that he is a ROOKIE head coach who has made some bad decisions and is not having a perfect year.

Bess back returning kicks because "he makes the first guy miss more and is stronger" ???

Yah he learned to put Ted back there pretty fast....

If I was an octopus, I'd give this thread "8 thumbs down."

TS has surpassed most everyone's expectations and unlike most other rookie coaches, he's got a great sounding board in BP to talk through the miscues he makes. According to one of the Dallas journalists I heard interviewed, he's also considered in-house in Dallas as one of the 5 best assistants to ever come through that program... ever!

However, before I forever depart it, I'll just say that after having spent a bunch of time on several Jests and Jills boards this week, more than several of each of their posters have expressed the sentiment that they wished their teams had Coach Tony in lieu of the 8 time loser Jauron and the Belicheat pretender formerly known as Mangenius.

Oh yeah, he was also named "Coach of the Week" once already and IMO, should be a prime contender for this past week as well.

6 words as to why he's having a bad year -

"davone bess is my kick returner"

seems like he flip-flopped pretty darn fast on that one
