Tony Sporano Interview

I saw it on NFL Network and i agree it was great. It was cool seeing him rip into players, i love having a coach with such tenacity. They liken him to Bill Parcells and i really can see it.

Great interview! But can we start spelling his name right - I mean, he's been our head coach for a whole year and led us to 11-5...

There are jets fans who will tell us how much they were in love with Mangenusis after his first year and how wrong they were. I'm sure there were many others who felt the same way after a year of imporvements with other first year coaches. But I have to say I can't see how we can go wrong with this guy. I think I could proudly call myself a dolphin fan after a losing season with him on the sideline better than I could a winning season with Cam Cameron.
Everything TS does is with the right winning attitude. Everything makes you feel confident that things are gonna work out. Every decision he makes make ya feel he thought it out, got advice, and made the best decision for the long term future of the team. No liberal based "I hope I don't offend someone" type of girly opinions. There is no behind players back games being played. He is upfront and fair and because of that players will do anything for him. He is a man's man, and a friend when he needs to be a friend and a leader when he needs to be a leader.

Who knows how we will feel about him at the end of this coming season, winning cures a lot of ills, and we don't know how he will handle a long losing streak. Time will tell, but as for me I couldn't be happier if they told me we were getting BB to coach the fins.

Tony is like Shula and Mangini is like the Lions old coach...to diffrent worlds of ability

I saw it on NFLN--- It was a good piece. I like his emotion... Yo Bess, buckle that chin strap!!

Actually it was Bess YOU PRACTICING, well BUCKLE YOUR CHIN STRAP, that guy means business, and the Players Love him for it. I bet Jerry Jones is kicking himself in the *** for letting Sparano out of town. There was several Dallas players who commented how much the Miami players would love him, they were so Right.

After we record another good year come next February, Ross should bend over backwards trying to lock TS in with a generous 3-5 year extension beyond his 4yr $2.5-2.7MM contract. If things go as planned, in a couple of years, the market will be clamoring for him like they did for The Tuna and Cowher.

the true test of this guys ability was after the week 2 loss in my opinion. unlike many other coaches he anyalised the situation saw we had a problem and opened the door for inovation. Unlike mr. cameron who continued the same lossing formula the whole year. The old saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it but it in this case if things arent working you better change something or it will continue not to work. I applaud him for taking a chance and getting the players on the right side of the confidence bubble, and it just goes to show that the man wants to win and will do whatever is necesarry to get there.

It was not a week 2 decision to innovate. They brought Lee in part to implement that scheme. They intentionally did not start working with it until after the season began because every year Bellichik adds a late cut Dolphin to his roster for the playbook. It works, but Parcells and Co. Knew this trick, so they did not install the plays until after that point.

Bellichik is extremely good at gameplanning his defense, so without that element of surprise we would not have stood a chance. We won in New England because the gimic wildcat produced 4 TD's. On the next game in Miami they were ready for it and handled us. :(

That was savvy planning to snatch a win with that formation and a more big plays throughout the season by adding wrinkles to the set. But eventually peiple realized we had no passing threat in that formation and stacked 9 men in the box and single covered our WR's and we were shut down. That is why we overdrafted Pat White--he can add that passing threat to the formation, be an occasional receiving target, and is always a threat to run. That keeps the defenses guessing and prevents them from stacking 9 men into the box ... Because if they do we are very likely to have a big play in the passing game.

But make no mistake about it. As much as Sparano makes it seem like an afterthought, it was not. It was a long planned strategy to make our smashmouth offense less predictable and take time away from our opponents preparing for our base offense. It will only work this year if we fully utilize the passing game from that formation and add new wrinkles like passing to Jake Long, Statue of Liberty to Pat White, etc. The premise for this is to confuse the defenses to create mismatches.

Did anyone else catch that comedian making a fool of himself drooling all over that Amazon woman's legs while he was being interviewed?
