I am sick of hearing how Pittsburgh is sooo good by our own fans. They were nothing amazing, especially with Batch in there. We had many opportunities to win that game and we couldnt capitalize. We had the lead in the 4th and at many times in the game we could have gone up by 2 scores. When the chips were down we folded. If we would have got blown out or shut out iwould feel different, but we didnt we gift wrapped them a win.

They deserve the credit...they played an error free game(one penalty) and kept coming at us for sixty minutes..we did not get it done, mostly, because they wouldn't let us.

Not trying to sound like a homer here...but the Steelers left points on the field as well....ie missed field goal....fumble at the one.

Those are all parts of the game.

I dont feel the Dolphins have anything to hang their heads about..and have plenty of time to right the ship.... I believe you play 8 teams with a losing record from last year....so even if you just beat the teams you are supposed to beat...thats 8 wins....win half of the others...and its 12-4.......no reason this team should not be at least 10-6 at the end of the year.

Also...I am new to the board...but I go to many teams boards..Browns, Bengals, Steelers, Raiders, Redskins, Colts, Broncos.......I spend most of my time on the Browns and Steeler sites...and while I am pimping sites...check out draftboardinsider.com if you get a chance...good for the draftniks...and has a nice message board as well.....but I have never seen a site turn on its team as fast as this one did this week........Leading up to the game...I could not believe how much trash talk was coming out of Dolphinland....predictions of 41-10...stomping the Steelers.....and now after 1 loss...those have all be replaced with "we suck"

Its 1 game....and there is a lot of football left to play.

I have to disagree Batch fumbled on the one, they gave up a big punt return to Welker, they gave up a couple of touchdowns. Our defense forced them to go 3 and out many times. We had many chances.

Hack, please note "who" it is turning on the team... I have quite the collection of such threads...and they magically reappear later for crow sessions.. :goof:

If ever you have an extra 36 bucks, join vip and escape from the "zoo", help out F/H, and get to know some of the more serious fans in an informal setting. I think most will tell you it is a world of difference.

In the gamethread I was peeved in the 1st quarter when our play-calling was right into the hands of the steelers.. In the first series, Why we rushed on 1st and 2nd down, then on 1st down again on the next set of downs I'll never know..

Culpepper was 3 for 3 in his first 3 "quick passes" where he had quick 3 step drops.. The pass to Peele for 16 yards in the first drive and two others.. I said before the game, we had to quick pass to set up the run later in the game..

In the 3rd quarter you saw us starting to get some good room running the ball on that TD drive.. We tried to run the ball way way too much early in the game and we did the Steelers a favor because those were all wasted downs by us..

If Miami kept the quick pass game and let our talented receivers catch then run for first downs early in the game, we would have won.. Then later in the game run more when the Steeler D is a little winded , like we were successful with in the 3rd quarter.. They were a little winded, however not enough because we didn't make em chase enough earlier on with quick passes !! Then hit em deep with a play action pass after running the ball effectively in the 3rd and 4th to seal the game ..

Had Miami instituted that gameplan we would have had the ball more in the first half, which means our defense wouldn't have been tired in the 4th quarter.. And we'd easily win this game by 14 or more pts..

I blame this game on the stupid playcalling early which led right into the steelers hands and had our defense on the field way too much as a result. Hence the loss . This was a win if the coaching staff would have made the proper calls to counter the Steeler D early on .. The coaching staff made it hard on the team . Much harder than it should have been .

For christs sakes we only threw one screen pass to Ronnie Brown over the middle , and in that screen reception he was great and then ran for a first down setting up a first and goal ! It was Brown's best run of the game because he had room out in the flat ! The job of the coaching staff is to put your best players in the best possible position to succedd, and this coaching staff didn't do it enough evidenced by that play and many other plays .

Why we didn't run that play earlier or again in the game I'll never know.. These were the types of plays we needed to run. Quick passes underneath and let our talented receivers make the run after the catch until we get em tired, then let our big offensive linemen wear them down running the ball later when the steeler D would have been tired by chasing so much early on .

Thanks for the offer... I just stopped in to check on Shirdonya Mitchell, and Teyo Johnson.....and well...they both got cut...but I do like it here...and plan on stopping in from time to time...see whats going on...and how Shird is doing on the PS

As for crow....I dont smack talk much...but I saw a thread I had to keep...Ive tried serving up some crow..but either he will not acknowledge it...or he just didnt want to go back into that thread again...(which I dont blame him for that)...so I will try a little more all in good fun CROW here to see if he finds it.

33-13 Miami wins dude. I am confident we are going to blow them out. It will be the biggest upset in a season opener by a defending Super Bowl champion in history. Save this post and make me eat crow if I'm wrong

That being said...yes..a lot of smack was talked here leading up to the game...predictions of 41-7 Phins...But it was only week one...and I would not doubt these two teams see each other again in Jan.

Welker might be the best guy in the NFL no one outside of Dolphin fans have ever heard of.

ON more time for Verticle Limit...... To eat crow..you have to at least acknowledge crow is being served...

One penalty. Doesn't that say something? It's almost unheard of.
With all the looks the Phins were giving Pitts O-line you've got to think there was at least 1-2 holding calls.
They deserve credit but the officiating has got to be questioned to some degree.

Our receivers are talented , but I think they are also soft. Chambers was dominated by Ike Taylor and McMichael was nearly invisible. He had a potential nice catch in the early 4th quarter but he dropped it when he got popped. I didn't see Pittsburgh's receivers dropping balls when they got popped.

Thats because McMike and Chambers went deep on pass plays.. Had we stayed with the short passing game we would have been fine.. Ronnie Brown is a superb back out of the backfiled.. Utilizing him more in that role would have opened up McMike and others because the safeties would have to think about Ronnie more. Ronnie had a great cach and run out of the backfield to set up a first and goal deep in Steeler territory.. Why we didn't call that play earlier or again in the game is a joke,.,. Really it is..

Those are the bandwagoneers who turn on the team so fast. The Dolphins are a popular team for them to come to.

Ok, this just comes across as sour grapes. Why bother posting it? Who are you going to convince other than the Steeler haters? Most of the people in the know on Fin Heaven wouldn't agree with you. So is this just fishing for other sour grapes people?

So every game the Phins won last year wasn't that the Phins were good it was that the losing team gave it away? Really really poor logic here.

Here is a thought. Lose gracefully. I've been a Steeler and Dolphin fan for years and years. Never once have I not given the winning team it's credit. It shows a complete lack of class. Oh and check my posts, I've never talked smack so don't try calling me a homer.

The point of the thread is that Im a Dolphins fan and i think we could have beaten the Steelers and that they are not unbeatable and that the reason we lost was cause of our own errors not them and that i am not intimidated by any team in this league.I believe that last night we did more damage to ourselves than the Steelers did to us. If the Steelers would have shut us out or totally ran the score up i would say they dominated us ,but they didnt. I aint sayin you didnt win im saying u got lucky.Iam only a fan of one team sorry if this bothers you since you are a steelers fan.Remember I posted this on "finheaven" not a steelers website.

Well you take a lot for granted. Your post didn't bother me, your opinion just seemed rather flawed. Any team can beat any other team on any given day, other than the year 1972. Saying any team won only because of luck is saying the lesser team won. While there have been some examples of that in the past, last nights game wasn't one of them. Did the Steelers dominate? Yes to a point (Offensive and defensive lines sure did). Did they crush the Dolphins? No, and I don't think anyone expected them to.

So you are saying because you are on a Dolphin site you should be given a free pass to sprout nonsense? Hardly. If you'd have been one of the people sprouting that Ronnie should be a back-up, you'd be called on that too.

They deserve all the credit they got.

Great D and they managed to sustain some great time consuming drives on our Defense with what I believe is one of the worst QB's in the NFL in Charlie Batch. Their OL is top notch. Great team.
