1. This season has been a disaster

Depends on how you want to view things. We accomplished a lot but we fell short in a few areas. We put faith in a lot of positions, injuries, and perhaps overlooked the fact that this is a coach's first year. When your key players are not there and injured then your team basically is gonna end up struggling.

2. Injuries

With Tua spending a large portion of the season unavailable it really brings many things questionable. As it stands, he is a liability based on the fact that once your starting qb becomes injured then everything changes. While Terron Armstread was out, great qbs are able to adjust to their line changing, is part of football.

3. Front Office

If there is a move that didn’t pan well for this front office is having proper back up plans. Our choice for back up qb did not pan well for us in any given situation we put the team on. Teddy's tenure here can be considered a failure. There were better choices.

4. Coaching staff

McDaniel has a chance at making the playoffs but we need to just win the last game to make this season worth anything. He has handles things well and if anything, his team has given him too much to handle in one season with key players being out and losing close games. Blaming everything on him is damn stupid. Our qb situation right now is disastrous beyond reason, and this team cannot stay healthy. It would be more objective to remove the goggles that this team has all the right pieces because that is not true.

Does boyer need to be out? Obviously he stayed here for transitioning purposes. We do need to shift philosophies, and also start thinking about the future. We could have traded howard when we could but thats prob not in the books
for now. We need more capable players in defense from a pass defense scheme stand point, and younger players as well.

Agreed on most points. I thought Teddy would be better than what we’ve seen - I think consensus was he would be a decent t backup that can win a game or two if needed - everyone was wrong on that.

We need a long term plan at CB. Jones and Howard can’t be counted on, and they are past their primes. Needham’s injury puts him at risk of declining play as well. We need to add at least 2 corners in the off-season, and that will be expensive.

1. The lack of playmaking on defense is appalling. Yes, we’ve had some injuries but they can’t get takeaways and can’t even get off the field on 3rd down.
2. We need the defensive parts to complement each other. Phillips is a stud. But Chubb does in fact need to step up. Don’t just take the money. Pressure up front and let the back end play the ball. For example, I can’t explain Holland but I think he’s not making plays because he’s helping cover up some of the backup corners.
3. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a defense that blows long yardage advantage like this and I recall Tom Olividotti. 2nd and 19? No problem, we will give up 18 to set up 3rd and short.
4. I think we can run the football. I think McCoach thinks he doesn’t have his primary back. This may be the year where your second round pick is a RB. The reason I say this, is McCoach won’t trust the back in tight situations late. Blake Korum?
5. I like Gesicki but he doesn’t fit this offense and the staff haven’t worked to his strengths.
6. There is a lot of dead weight we can get rid of and create cap space.
7. We do have three day two picks. Maybe you can get a RB, LB, and TE. You will need free agency also at corner and another tackle, a backup safety etc.
8. I have serious doubts about the ST coach.

The best offense I have ever seen this team have. But one of the worst defenses I have ever seen as well. Along with a dysfunctional oline. I think this GM cannot put together a complete football team and needs to go. I think McDaniel is a stud offensive mind who is still learning to be a headcoach. He will get better with time.

We need an influx of talent on defense and the oline, but most importantly the defensive scheme sucks. We need to find someone as creative as McDaniel on offense but on defense. We need a stud defensive coordinator more than anything.

Post 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 are all because our GM sucks. Post 7 is because our HC play calling around the endzone sucks. We threw 1 jump ball to Gesicki in the endzone all season and he went up above the goal post and got it. Welp that worked so let’s not do that again.

You hit the nail on the head especially on the last part. We need a revamp at a lot of positions on defense (DB's, linebackers) and we should be going out and getting a Vic Fangio.

I love Tua and I think he's a really good QB but his health is becoming a big concern.
