Here's my list of top 10 Dolphin defenders of all-time:

1. Jason Taylor - heading to the hall?
2. Nick Buonticonti - only Mia defensive player in hall
3. Dick Anderson - signature game w/4 ints. vs. Steelers
4. Zach Thomas - similar to Buonticonti maybe wo/the leadership
5. Bob Baumhauer - one of my favs at DT
6. AJ Duhe - one of best Mia moments w/int return in playoffs vs. Jets
7. Jake Scott - Super Bowl VII MVP, always in the right place
8. Pat Surtain - best corner we've ever had
9. Tim Bowens - the defensive turnaround in the mid-90's began w/him
10. John Offerdahl - only star on defense for a long time

i think youre pretty right one those, except that how can you say that ZT doesnt have the leadership?

JT will end up in the hall, i think ZT deserves to be there too but wont get there without a super bowl unfortunatly.

Jason Taylor should be a dead cert to head to Canton.

Lets hope he gets Def MVP this year.

Great list. Although I think Madison and Surtain interchangeable.

I love Zach, but question what he says sometimes to the media. I know he gets frustrated, but those comments make me question his leadership at times.

Using those players, I would think:

1. Jason Taylor - heading to the hall?
2. Nick Buonticonti - only Mia defensive player in hall
7. Jake Scott - Super Bowl VII MVP, 5-time pro bowler
4. Zach Thomas - similar to Buonticonti maybe wo/the leadership
3. Dick Anderson - 4 pix and 3-time pro bowler
10. John Offerdahl - only star on defense for a long time
5. Bob Baumhauer - one of my favs at DT

surtain was always top notch while madison was on the decline for his final two years.

Madison was a playmaker and is close to the top 10 IMO. Surtain was just a more complete player.

Louis Oliver, Troy Vincent......these guys were pretty damn good, too.

Too bad Vincent didn't play in Miami longer. I wish JJ could have kept him.

Interesting. I struggled ranking Anderson and Scott because I think they were pretty close. That was a heck of a safety combination!
