1-Dan marino 1984 1st round pick 27. 5 qb's were picked ahead of him and they got the best with the second to last pick of the first round. hall of famer and definately best dolphin player ever.

2-Jason taylor 1997 3rd round pick 73. A classic tweener that was on some first round mocks, a probable hall of famer that most could not decide if he had a poistion in the NFL.

3-Zach Thomas 1996 5th round pick 154 An undersized LB prospect that was passed over twice in the same round by the Phins was actually the 9th pick of this draft. another probable hall of famer that every year seems to get written off only to produce all pro numbers.

4-mark Clayton 1983 8th round pick 223 pick. Scored 88 total touchdowns and was a 5 time pro bowler. Still afc record holder for Td's with 18.

5-richmond Webb 1990 1st round pick 9. Was a fairly dominant LT especially in pass blocking. 7 time pro bowler and had 118 consecutive starts. member of all 90's NFL team.

6-MArk Duper 2nd round pick number 52. Unknown speedster out of Nortwestern St was looking like a major bust after catching 4 balls went on to catch 511 passes in his career and go to 3 probowls.

7-Sam madison 1997 pick 44 3nd round. A 1st round talent that fell to second round, probably best cb to wear a dolphin uniform. 33 i9nterceptions and 4 pro bowls to his credit.

8-Tim Bowens 1994 first round pick 20. A consistent clog in the middle for a decade. Was defensive rookie of year and went to two pro bowls> was considered a huge reach on many levels but moree than lived up to his draft position.

9-Jeff cross 1999 9th round draft pick number 238 made the 1990 pro bowl and had 59 total sacks.

10-John Offerdahl 1986 2nd pick number 52. Five time pro bowler from West mich. First five years he was a pro bowler and injuries shortened his career.

Narrowly missing the List was Pat Surtain 2nd round pick in 1998 pick 44.
We traded a 1st round pick to select him. 2 time pro bowler.

Also for consideration was Tim Ruddy who was a steady center for 9 years and made 140 starts at center.

2 players that were also worthy of consideration were Bryan Cox and troy Vincent but neither played over 5 years for the fins. Cox was twice a pro bowler for the fins and once elsewhere. great value for a fifth round pick from a small school. Troy Vincent who may have been our best cb that we drafted was only here until his rookie contract expired. made 4 pro bowls from 2000-2003. Vincent was the 2nd highest pick we had during the twenty five year period. Actually a bonus because we traded Randall Hill for that pick. round 1 pick 7.

My list is based on alot of factors where draft postion and performance make it somewhat of a sliding scale. Thomas could easily go above taylor because he was a lower pick and after more thought I should have placed him above Taylor.

Agree with the list, but highly doubt Thomas or Taylor will make it into the HOF without a ring. We've won a grand total of three playoff games (all on wild card weekend) with them. No way they make it into the HOF with such a lack of notable victories. And then there's that 62-7 debacle in Jacksonville, a 55-point margin that is the highest in modern NFL playoff history (2nd only to the Bears' 73-0 victory over the Redskins in the 1940 NFL Championship)...

Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor will go into the NFL Hall of Fame. I don't have any doubts about that. They don't play offense which is the only thing holding the team back.

7 pro bowls and being among the top two middle linebackers of his era should help. Can't help idiots have ran the franchise. As for Taylor he has 106 sacks and is a 5 time pro bowler plus def player of the year. I think they both get in.

They played on a defense that allowed 62 points in a playoff game. Outside of Dolfans, nobody thinks they'll end up in the HOF...And they're probably right.

Hall of fame is based on more than what they did in the playoffs. Both players represent the best of thier position of a particular era, so they definately deserve to make the hall. Postseason is overrated I agree when assessing who is in the hall. Art Monk should easily be in the hall. No player has more tackles than Thomas during his time in the NFL so he definately deserves to be looked at. Elvin bethea did not have a ring either.

What a pathetic list when you consider it took 25 freakin years to get such a list ..

Just goes to show you how pathetic our drafts have been when compared to other teams.. IE- 90% of other teams during that span wouldn't even consider having a player like Jeff Cross or Tim Bowens on the top 20 list, nevermind the top 10 ..

What a gross and pathetic display Miami has shown in drafts. They should hide their collective heads underground.. forever.

I think jeff Cross is not such a bad listing because he was a ninth round pick but we definately suck for having that weak of a list.
