Top 10 home field advantages according to NFL network

Im not trying to start an arguement or anything, but I did manage to watch some of the fins game (thanks to DirecTV). Of all the football games played on sunday, the picture quality of the fins game was the worst. Almost like watching a small college team play. This was supposed to be one of the major games this weekend (thanks to Farve). Was it the field? the video coverage? or was I just seeing things?

Neither, it was the team

How the hell is this relevant to my thread? :err:

Dolphin Stadium isn't a dump and isn't to blame for our shortcomings the past few seasons....you should really point the finger at the hometown fans...they are the ones that let more Jet fans show up than their own...the real question should be why don't more fans come out and support their home team? I live in TN, but if I lived down there, I'd have season tickets

Because DS is located in the middle of nowhere. They moved the team away from the heart of Miami and it has cost them ever since. I wasn't around at the time but according to most people the Orange Bowl was always packed with our fans and very little fans of the opposing team.

The Hurricanes never should have left the Orange Bowl either.

That place was electric during the big games. It will be missed.

Agreed, a thousand times over. The devastating aspect is the permanence. I'll probably never see the Dolphins or Canes play in another home venue and that is so sickening I can barely accept it.

I wrote letters to Donna Shalala and Paul Dee with every type of statistical evidence of the inferiority of Dolphin Stadium, but they were content to rely on subjectivity and cash, and their dainty priorities in an upper booth. Seriously, have you ever seen Paul Dee? Naturally he's going to want more grub and a bigger and better accessible toilet.

You can't move out of the heart of the city and also construct a remarkably bland multi purpose cement monstrosity with fans nowhere near the vicinity of the field. It shouldn't be possible to botch every major variable.

The dirt infield, now that's charming. At that point you're inventing masochistic variables out of thin air. Thin dirt, whatever.

Joe Robbie deserves to have his name on that stadium, but not for the reason most people want it there. He was excellent for Miami in many ways but his final major decision was a nightmare, for the home teams if not for hosting Super Bowls. The Super Bowl, no kidding. If you're looking for a neutral site, Dolphin Stadium is the Taj Mahal.

Are they still thinking about putting a roof on DS?

I haven't heard much about that lately.

It sure looks great during the Super Bowl . . . and be thankful that it is at Dolphn stadium rather than the OB, because you really would see NO fans because its much less accessible than Dolphin Stadium (it was different times in the 70's and 80's) . . . fact is this is a bandwagon town and when the teams are bad, people don't show up. The economy also has a big part in this. Unlike New York, where people make even up to 5 or 6 bucks more a hour for the same job that they do down here . . . the prices have skyrocketed so much in South Florida, its about the same cost of living (1 bedrooms apt's in a decent area run $900+, I know because I'm in Broward and I pay 950 for a 1 bedroom)

It is easy if you are from out of town to say, "I would have season tickets", but you have to live down here to understand why its hard to have them. Some people don't have 3 thousand dollars for 2 decent season tickets and a parking pass (In contrast, 3000 is like a 250 dollar car payment every month, where in NY u probably wouldn't have a car, plus the gas and insurance factor and the 5 dollar more an hour factor . . . people in NY have much more money than people in South Florida). Not to mention food and drink, yea it sounds like I am making excuses, but its the truth. People don't want to spend so much for a losing product.

They definitely gotta get the Marlins out of there though, that is horrible looking at that dirt every September . . . I don't think it will be there by the next home game, but I could be wrong.

When the teams start winning, people will invest there money and time on them. Until then, u will be hard pressed to persuade someone to spend so much money when they can watch the fins in high def in the AC, BBQ, pool party, 12 pack of beer for 12 bucks . . . I mean I go to atleast ONE game a year, but I don't see myself getting season tickets. I would if I had more people to go with me, but that is not the case.

If you and 3 friends go to the stadium, I mean you are going to spend over 500 bucks after everything.

If you BBQ and beer it up at the house, you probably will spend what . . 50 bucks . . . if that. It's crazy.
