Drafted

1)Sammie Smith 2)Yatil Green 3)Billy Milner 4)Eric Kumerow 5)John Bosa 6)Randal Hill 7)John Avery 8)Jamar Fletcher 9)Rick Norton 10)Lorenzo Hampton

Dishonerble mention goes to Cecil "The Diesel" Collins he was only a 5th rounder and didn't play long enough to be a bust but a huge moron.

Free Agent/Trade

1)Daunte Culpepper 2)Eric Green 3)Ernest Wilford 4)Lawrence Phillips 5)David Boston 6)Steve Emtman 7)Thurman Thomas 8)Chris Carter 9)AJ Feeley 10)Trent Green

I'm 34 so my free agent/trade list is of players more in my time. If your more old school and can think of some busts from prior to the early 90's then be my guest. The draft list is from all time because that's a little easier to research.

I don't think Yatil Green deserves to be on this list, he had injuries that he could not overcome. He's more of a unfortunate situation then a bust, the talent was there it just never really got a chance.

AJ Feeley definately deserves to be higher.. as well as reggie howard, who IMO deserves to be top 3.. seriously, top 3 worst FA aquisition in Dolphins history..

I think AJ Feeley should be much higher on that list. I seem to recall the Eagles fleecing us Big time with that one. It was like Muhammad Ali going against Pee Wee Hermann.

I actually thought of that when putting him on my list. I think you are right. Some one else mentioned Eddie Moore and maybe they should be switched.

funny this thread was created, I was just thinking about this same topic for a thread yesterday.

Good list Don74, I would just maybe pull Yatil green out of the busts as we will never truly know what kind of pro he would be. And Feeley has to be moved up on the trade bust list. In front of carter and thurman thomas who we didn't give up a second to get like feeley. I can still remember that offseason now, Rick Spielman talking how he analyzed every one available and feeley was the best statiscally... Still makes want to puke.

Well the OP nailed it on Daunte at least. But, yea he has to include AJ Feeley in that, even though he was a trade pick up.

As far as draft busts, John Beck has to be on that list. Jason Allen should be up there as well. Smith, Hill, Fletcher, Avery and Hampton at least made a few plays. They all contributed something or another. Hell, Sammie Smith scored a playoff TD and was our starting RB for at least one season. Hampton was a decent player for us for a year or two wasnt he?

hate it, when it takes you a second to type up your thoughts and then you post it and see multile people just posted the same things you were typing. Oh well

If Beck was wavied or traded tomorrow he would shoot near the top of the list but it's still a wait and see IMHO.

I think Yatil was a bust for the team. Unfortunate or not, it cost this team a pick. John Avery led the team in all purpose yards when he played. He performed but didn't come close to meeting expectations.

I think Ricky Williams should get some kind of honorable mention. We sold the farm to get him, and he ditched us one year, got suspended another, and another. He has produced, but has left something to be desired in terms of reliability. And we paid a high price to get him. 2, count 'em, 2 first rounders.
