I didn't see this posted. I was browsing the NFL.com stats and saw our overall Defense at number 8...wow!:woot:

It's been a long time since we had something to crow about. I see the "D" getting stronger as Roth learns the position and the rookies (Langford and Merling) become more acclimated to the NFL.

If the secondary can just step it up a bit. Will Allen and Yeremiah Bell are playing well, we just need to the other two positions to solidify!

Not only that, but we also have the 10th ranked offense (in terms of total yards per game) in the NFL. If we can keep both the offense and defense in the top 10 this year we will make some noise. I could see both of them nudging up a spot or two, which would be awesome.

The most important stat, points per game, is 7th.

not for nothing, but we should be ranked # 7 according to those stats.

That's fantastic. Our defense has looked really stout the last two weeks, particularly against the run.

Now that's impressive. I don't give much creedence to stats like #2/#30 splits, or similar, but, when it's just about the same position? Now that's good stuff.

Awesome!! Joey Porter is an ANIMAL! He is playing like he is in his 20's again. What a shame it was seeing him play out of position last year. He needs to be rushing the QB. Matt Roth impresses me more and more everyday.

miami top ten defense again. Now that brings up some nostalgia.

Yeremiah Bell was a monster yesterday. He gives you what you want as a strong safety. If he keeps it up, and there is no reason to think won't, he is having a pro bowl season. Unfortunately, he has not had many picks which may hurt him at pro bowl selection time. But he had really solid coverage on Gates and defensed some passes well. But more than anything he is a stopper. He makes key plays that gets the defense off the field. He is a winner.

yeah, another good CB, a starting-calibre FS and some more LB depth would be nice though. but we're making progress

Another stud NT would be useful also...Ferguson is great for the short term, but he is in his 12th year...

Every dolphin fan should be very excited that our team is a top 8 defense in the NFL,I know its early but this has been a amazing improvement from last year already.
