1. Olivier Vernon, DE, Miami Dolphins: It's not that common to see a 25-year-old pass rusher hit the market. Vernon got off to a slow start last year, but came on in the second half. He has 29 sacks in four seasons with 11.5 in 2013.
4. Kelechi Osemele, G, Baltimore Ravens: He has been a productive starter at guard, but has also started at tackle. He would be a nice upgrade for a lot of teams, but the price could be high.
5. Trumaine Johnson, CB, Los Angeles Rams: Most will put his teammate and fellow corner Janoris Jenkins above him, but I think Johnson is the better player. He is tall and does a good job in man coverage.

10. Janoris Jenkins, CB, Los Angeles Rams: He has a ton of skills, but has gambled on the field at times and hurt his team. He cut down on that some last season, which could be a sign of maturity.
11. Danny Trevathan, ILB, Denver Broncos: It's hard to find speedy linebackers who are good in coverage and also solid in the run game. That's Trevathan. He's another who excelled in the Super Bowl.
15. Doug Martin, RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers: For a team looking for a back, and willing to pay one rather than draft one, Martin would make sense. I am not a proponent of paying backs, but he's a good player, which is why he's this high on the list.

21. Richie Incognito, G, Buffalo Bills: He had a nice season for the Bills in his return to the NFL after sitting out for the bullying issues in Miami. He can be dominant at times as a run blocker.
27. Lamar Miller, RB, Miami Dolphins: He turns 25 in April and has just 638 carries in four seasons. So he has a lot of good football left.

NOT worth 15M. You can use that money to help world hunger instead of paying an overrated player who gets to many boneheaded penalties.

Sucks hes being overrated. Its gonna force us to tag him or lose him. Id bet we lose hike. You can't franchise players from a losing team. Imo.

I'm curious how the rest of the nfl views Vernon, clearly we cant be the only to know hes somewhat fools gold.

I'd love to tag him if it means we can trade him for a 1st rounder. OV is the prototype underachiever who doesn't turn it on until it's contract season. The only way you give him big money is if it's tied to incentives.

Precisely. At the end of the year, he stopped caring about playing defense and was solely head hunting for sacks. Makes sense when it was pointed out, considering how many late hits he had.

Give me your top 3 listed along with #27 in Miller and I'm happy.

A friend knows former Canes and e-mailed me what they are saying on OV. They say that anyone thinking OV turned it on for money in the second half know nothing about the man or the game, that he had a bad ankle from game #1 and you cannot rush the QB with a bad wheel. Also, that he was not picked early because he needed to develop talent he had and has done that, he does not take plays off and has a non stop motor.

They think Suh has helped him but, that he has helped Suh some as well. Suh is going nowhere and they will just get better in playing together. OV is not yet a great player but, they expect him to be in the very near future. They say he wants to stay in Miami but, will be a business decision and they would tag him as a last resort.

*Posted in another thread but, worth repeating.

OV is overrated

I think a lot of Dolphin fans look at Olivier Vernon through Cam Wake's production. He isn't Wake, but few are. The team is very lucky to have a talent like Wake, but Vernon I believe is better than a lot of fans give him credit for.

In today's NFL you have to hang onto guys who can rush the passer like Vernon. I know the price will be high and Miami may end up having to go in another direction. Still, I feel signing Vernon should be the free agent priority this offseason.

If you do not pay OV, who are you paying to do the same next to Suh for the next 4-5 years?

i agree to an extent, but he was great for half a season. he has not should the consistent production to warrant a $12-13m a year on a long term deal. i would much rather see him get the franchise tag to pay him big and pay him next year if he keeps it up in 2016. last thing we want to have another massive contract on the books and him under perform.
