TO's contract w/Cowboys: 3-Year, $25 Million

It could turn out to be the best move this offseason besides Culpepper. Or it could become the worst move like Brees signing with the Saints.

It's a smart move....until the fist game when Bledsoe gets a bunch of pressure and Owens catches one pass for 11 yards. Owens will blast Bledsoe, Parcells will freak out and the Cowboys will implode.

It just reeks of desperation by Jones and the Cowboys and when teams make panic moves like this they never seem to work out.

And to be fair I never thought it was a bad idea for Dallas to sign him, but for that amount cash, this will just reinforce TO's thinking that he'll never be held accountable for his actions, that is why this is an idiotic move by Jones.

I think Parcells is one of the very few coaches who won't put up with TO's crap for more than 3.5 seconds. He'll tell him what's up or kick him out.

5 mil a year none of it incentives Parcells can do what he wants but with the new CBA there is no kicking out without a large cap hit...

the contract doesnt have incentives, but the way its laid out is what makes it good for the Cowboys... TO is getting the largest bonus and salary this year I believe, and lower salary/bonus in the final two years... it ensures that if TO continues his trend (behaving the first year than having problems the second year) Dallas can cut him or trade him without much of a large cap hit... its a LOWER risk/high reward situation for the Cowboys...

This is funny...Do yall remember when T.O ran out onto the star in the game against Dallas that one year...and then got laid out

It's a good move until Brees can't get TO the ball and then they start losing and the fireworks begin. I feel sorry for the tuna.

could you actually imagine the boo's he'd get at lincon financial field if he actually shut his mouth and played well for dallas though? if i was him, i'd go with a couple of body guards.

Terrible salary decision by the Cowboys

I can't believe that the Cowboys front loaded TO's contract like that. They just made themselves vulnerable to him acting up like he always does after the first year. He will probably be good the first year, but then who knows. The way they structured his contract he is going to have, I believe 16 of the 25 million after recieving the roster bonus in year 2. This gives him less incentive to stay inline since he will already have recieved most of his money. They should have given him a smaller front side of the contract loaded with behavior and play performances as well as larger roster bonuses in later years that way you don't have to pay him that much unless he continues to perform and be a good teamate.

I couldn't agree more. This looks like an organization that thought bringing in Big Bill was going to get them another Super Bowl run and it hasn't. Now Bill is looking out the window again and this is the last year to do it.

They will do better, win more games, but not be a better team.

Where are all the people now who thought that T.O. could be signed for a pittance?

There's always someone in the NFL willing to pony up major cash to the worst malcontent if they think it will help them win.
