For Earth Below
Once again Armando writes another hit-piece regarding Farmer's withdrawal from Dolphins GM consideration. Armando logically states that the organizational reporting structure would have clearly been defined during their lengthy 5 hour first interview. So why several days later would Farmer suddenly withdraw rather than immediately thereafter if he were uncomfortable with the reporting structure?
It angered me when Armando concludes that the reason must be that the Dolphins are so dysfunctional so as to not have clearly communicated the reporting structure to the candidate. That's pure BS. Perhaps the Dolphins expressed reservations about Farmer's lack of experience in evaluating collegiate players, and Farmer realized that accordingly he was not the frontrunner for the GM position.
So here's my touchy question: is it possible that the Dolphins would extend Farmer a 2nd interview even if he weren't their first choice in order to appease the Fritz Pollard alliance? Or is it possible that the Dolphins simply decided from a PR perspective to identify 3 finalists, so as to inflate the desirability of the position, even if in their minds they had narrowed the choice down to 2 candidates? And if the Dolphins offered Farmer a 2nd interview for either of the above reasons, or for another reason that has slipped my mind, would they be ethically wrong in doing so?
I'd be curious to get others' perspectives as there is no way that I am believing that the reporting structure was ambiguous when everyone on FinHeaven knows exactly what Ross had stated.
