We all have heard about this tough schedule that is going to be our uncrowning this year. Apparently because we succeeded in a soft schedule we do not have the ability to compete in one that appears to strike the fear of god in mere mortals.

Luckily for NE they have a god in Brady and with his return brings home the title we apparently have borrowed and not earned. The soft schedule excuse does not reign in NE because Brady went down with injury and from the ashes arose Cassell who most love to praise as a excellent QB now starting in KC but only a back up in NE. While I will give NE credit for being a strong team every year the dominantion is over. Brady may very well bounce back from his injury but his record years are gone and they too will have to fight for every victory.

Some believe the Buffalo Bills can sneak in the picture with a young offensive line that is doing so well they changed their offense to the no huddle to try and limit the defenses ability to expose the greatest weakness they have; the oline. The same soft schedule kick their rear ends in and this tough schedule will become even more difficult when the Oline can't handle it and Edwards takes another beating. T.O. helps but lets see how he handles losing and playing in Buffalo late November/ December, I have a feeling this one ends up badly once again.

The NYJ's couldn't do anything with their soft schedule and ProBowl QB but now start a rookie QB who has thrown many completions to both teams on the field. Throw in the tough schedule and a Rookie QB trying to bring his team back from behind doesn't bode well for success. Their defense is solid and will keep them in games but this just means we'll be hearing about how they've lost 8 games by fewer then 6 points.

Did we benefit from a soft schedule or did we see an opportunity and just grabbed the bull by the horns. Afterall we only lost two starting guards in week 1, lost our best WR, had a cast off QB learn from a partial camp, had average play from our Center, had a RB coming off a major injury, we had no pass rush outside 1 guy and yet we still won 11 games and the division title. My point being excuses seem to find their way to defend the other teams failures but the soft schedule seems to justify our success.

We now have our starting two guards, a Center thats a nasty prick, a QB that gets a full camp, a stable full of WR's, a RB that's healthy and in a contract year, a pass rush with lots of depth, a stable of young Corners, a proven Superbowl winning FS and a ProBowl LT to boot. What does this have to do with our tough schedule? It means anyone that has us on that schedule is in for a fight because of the opponent THEY face.

The AFC EAST Title is ours and while the media may think they can give away what we earned WE actually will determine the next Champion because the road leads to us and theres only one thing to say come and get it.

amazing post that really pumped me up. Bring it on Falcons :thanks::thanks:

I love it. Great post.

I'm admittedly a fan that tends to expect the worst so I'm not disappointed. I've been that way since the Miami squads of the mid 90's that were labeled superbowl contenders by everyone only to fall flat on their face. I grew up being a diehard of a team that started very strong only to fade down the stretch and it scarred me.

But to me this just seems different. We hit rock bottom for a couple years, but that's exactly what this team needed to get a huge shake up - starting with Parcells, Ireland and Sparano. It's hard to believe they've only been in control for two offseasons and one full season. This team seems to ooze confidence, quality and execution. The last two drafts are something to behold after the disasters of the many years prior. Look at all the young talent. Compare this to 5 years ago...or 10 years even. Theres no doubt that this FO is building this team through the draft and damn doesn't it feel good.

I feel the old pessimistic fan I was being sqashed whether it scares me or not. Tough schedule? Sure. But there will be no excuses or reasons for our winning this year. We may be a year away or more, but doesn't everyone feel it? This is getting to be a DAMN good football team and it's going to be fun to watch all the naysayers realise it this season.

The important thing is not to start 0-3.. At Atlanta, Peyton and Indy, then at San Diego when they have Merriman back and a happy QB with a new $90M contract is a tough bargain.

If the Dolphins can avoid a bad start, then they have a good chance to have a nice season. Parcells teams always play well late in the year, he builds teams to play well late in the year so I am not worried about those games. It's the early ones I am worried about.

While i wouldnt crown us yet, we are a vastly improved team with a core group of young playmakers. We have a sound foundation to build upon that will establish us as a conferance contender every year. Keep in mind we were a mere 2 plays away from being 13-3 with a playoff bye. A combined 20 seconds stood between 11-5 and 13-3.

I wouldnt start doing a victory dance yet, but in the coming weeks, months, and years i believe we have good things coming.

I have not crowned us, I simply have not taken the crown off like many media morons already have. I don't just think we're better then last year, I think we're alot better then last year. It's gonna be a fun year to watch.

I agree 100%. Not much else to say since you hit the nail on the head.

great post..the steelers had the toughest schedule going into last season and all they did was win the super bowl..i think our upgrade in talent nullifies the tougher schedule..the way i look at the schedule-bring it on..

I see no reason why we won't start at least 2-1. Atlanta will be the toughest of the first 3 games. Indy is not what they were a couple of years ago and the Chargers are coached by a good OC but clueless as a HC. I have yet to see the Chargers well prepared for a game under him. Follow that up with the twin turds from New York and we may be very well 4-1 going into the bye.

Maybe a Buffalo or NYj team needs to worry about the opponents they face, I'm not and we don't need too. Not when when we will be among the best of them, this was sort of the point of the thread, that WE are the team to beat. I'm not saying to overlook anyone, this coaching staff and veteran players will not allow that to happen.

Damn right!!! Until the end of the season WE are the defending AFC East Champs, not the Jets, not the Bills and certianlly not the Patroits.

Great post man. You deserve a medal for that one. Or at least a cookie.

4-1 going into the bye? While I would gladly take it, this would ruin our goal to go undeafeated this season.

When the media sheep repeat repeat repeat the same ol BS....you know its not true.

Great post. Ive said it all along. NE went 11-5 with a soft schedule too! Jets lost to SF and we beat them. NE barely beat Seattle. So where is the objectivity? There is none! the media sell crap that people buy into until reality hits.
