Anyone watch the Cup race today? Toyota finished 1st(Kyle Busch) and 2nd(Tony Stewart) at Atlanta Motor Speedway this afternoon for Toyotas first Sprint Cup series win since joining the series last year. First Cup series foreign nameplate to win since the 50's.

I'm so mad, I'm a Kyle Busch fan but I missed the race today :(. Congratz to Kyle Busch, the #18 crew, and Toyota on the historic and momentous win :woot:.

congrats to toyota?? haha yeah right... that'd be the day... :shakeno:

theres no doubt that kyle busch is one of the most talented drivers in the Cup garage, but he's still an idiot. why was he trying to wreck the lapped car of dale jarrett on the final lap. with well over a 2.5 second lead, why are you banging on the back bumper of a lapped car 1.5 miles from the lead. I was hoping he'd get himself into trouble and wreck, i thought it would have been so fitting because the kid runs like an idiot everywhere he goes. If he wants to keep winning like he did on sunday, he should start driving with his head. He's already lost several races over his career due to driving like an idiot.

However, his talent in a racecar, especially from what hes shown this year just further proves what I think could be the demise of the talent and domination of Hendrick Motorsports. If i'm Rick Hendrick i'd be kicking myself in the butt every time i see kyle run. Id go as far as to guarantee kyle wins more for gibbs than dale jr probably ever will running with hendricks. Sure hendrick is probably loving the income rolling in from dale jr merchandise, but how much can he really be loving watching kyle dominate in all 3 series???

It's a sad day for Nascar IMO.

I guess I'm one of the few on this but I thought Toyota should never have been accepted in Nascar. This is truly one of the sports that is uniquely American and I thought it should stay that way.

Cant blame them for making superior quality cars.

I watched the entire race and didnt think it was a great race. I am a JGR team fan and Stewart being the driver I really follow. But I thought kyle ran a great race especially with those tires. I can understand keeping the Cup with domestic cars but things change. I prefer domestic cars in my personal life though. I dont think they make superior cars, they just take our cars and improve on them.

Ok if that's your opinion, but I wasn't talking about your perception of a a consumer opinion. I was talking about Nascar selling out and letting a foreign make into it's races.

yeah, but what hasnt nascar sold out to in recent years?? they dont give a damn about their fans anymore, its 110% sponsor driven, the fans come second nowadays it seems...

if i was at that atlanta race, id be looking for my money back from either nascar or goodyear. because that was the most pathetic display of "racing" ive ever seen. hate to say it, but tony stewart was right. goodyear got their butts kicked out of every other series by either hoosier, or firestone. too bad nascar wont allow that to happen with the multi million dollar 5 year deal they signed with goodyear until 2011 i think it is..

This isn't the first time. In 1954 a Jaguar won.

Almost all of the Toyota's for sale in America are built in America. Most of the "domestics" are built in Canada and Mexico.
