Wanted to go ahead and put this out there, this is the time where teams have to cut rosters down and maybe you can plug a hole with a last minute free agent.

So any word yet about guys getting cut from around the league?

All I want is some OL help. Other than that I think were pretty set

I believe August 31st is the day teams need to cut down to 53, so we still have a week. It changed last year that there is just 1 big cut deadline rather than 2 or 3. Some teams may start trimming down their rosters, but I don't really expect anyone really worth grabbing to be let go before then, unless teams try to give the vets a chance to catch on somewhere. Really hoping an OG, OT or C worth something shakes loose somehow.

Nobody's getting cut till after the last preseason games. Every team goes from 90 to 53 at the same time.

When players are cut is it a free for all .or do we get awarded based on last year's record

It depends on how long they've been in the league and if they have to clear waivers. If they're vets of at least 4 years, they don't go to waivers and they can be signed immediately. If less than 4 years in the league, teams need to put in waiver claims, which then go by draft order, I believe. If they clear waivers, anyone can sign them.

I'd do Patriots thingy and give a 7th for a cap casualty 1-2 year rental for a good OLineman(s) and not a worn-out not quite out to pasture old nag.

I agree with this. I'd gladly give up a 6th or 7th round pick to grab a serviceable lineman that we desperately need. Nobody is going to be able to evaluate Rosen behind the garbage we currently have.

If we sign any players during this period will it affect the comp formula?

I believe it is usually vet minimum or close to it at this point. That will probably have very little effect on the compensatory pick allocation

Careful now. Remember, this team is 'trash.' A third of starters couldn't make another team's PS. Best Miami can do is 2-3 wins. That's the narrative.

This team is trash, and all you have to do is take a gander at the roster.
